We saw her in two of his creations while promoting Delhi-6 (see here and here), so we can’t say we are surprised to see Sonam attending the Sabyasachi show at Lakme Fashion Week. She wore a black Sabyasachi creation of course, one which she paired with Kundan earrings and a silver clutch.
Her makeup seemed a bit greasy which was kind of a put-off, but thanks to her height, this vast black zip-up creation that would have looked ridiculous on someone else, actually looks nice on her.

I LOVE it !!! But what is it? Is it a long dress…or is there a chudidar too ? She does look off. Some blotting paper would have helped.

I agree that she pulls it off, just because she’s cute and young…but yeah isn’t she hot? Last time I went to India, it was pretty frickin hot…maybe that’s why her face is oily..

Overly made up, and I don’t like that zipper running down the front; it ruins an already dreary outfit. Well, even fashionistas can have a day off I guess :)
Not a rah-rah outfit, but could have been a decent one had the creator used cloth buttons/gold embroidered buttons instead of gasp….the long zipper. Heinous offense.
only the skirt is nice, rest including her hair and make up is awful!!! hate the zip!!

Her make-up is sooooo oily! Sonam needs to go easy on the make-up…harsh make-up runis her face! I think it’s that “I don’t know anything about make-up I don’t check the mirror after the make-up person does her work, she/he knows best” She needs to look in the mirror! The dress is fine and she carries it very well…
How can anyone wear that monstrosity… Nothing about this look works for me….

HATE IT HER MAKE UP IS REALLY BAD.. I REALLY DISLIKE THE ZIP IN THE FRONT IT RUINS EVERYTHING FOR ME!
Really could have spiced that up with some gorgeous gold buttons! The zipper alone is very dreary. And of course- Sonam, hit the powder room, stat!
And btw… how tall is Sonam?
I usually love Sonam and Sabyasachi but this I don’t like at all… a rare miss for both…

I dont like the zipper going down the middle. If this outfit was shorter, a little below her knees, and the chudidaar was all black… this would be great. But alas, it isn’t coz of the length and the zipper. I LOVE the long netted sleeves – give it an edgy look. and ofcourse the usual Sabyasachi stamp with the border. I’m on the fence about this look. Sonam needs to shape her eyebrows because they’re too thick.

a BIG miss. i dont like anything except for the juttis. i agree with herdisnot- why did sabya not think of gold/embroidered buttons??? and carrying a silver clutch was a huge mistake.
if she had done somehting fresh and pretty with the hair and makeup (think Frieda) she would have pulled it off
but as it is…:/ (i.e. this is probably the worst she’s ever looked- in terms of makuep anyway)

Maybe she was visiting the Addams family after this event. Can think of no other reason to look like this!
she needs to stop taking herself so seriously, and start wearing some normal clothes! all that makeup makes her look so much older than she is!
Her height is the only redeeming factor for this dress (or churidar with hidden pants). The makeup…where can I even start? She’s too young and pretty to need that much on her face. And I think the worst part is the eyeshadow. Why would anyone put that greyish colour all the way up to the eyebrows? Why? Unless it was halloween and they wanted to go as someone who can’t do makeup.
Hahaha I agree with the person who said this is an EPIC fail for both Sonam and Sabya..the two people who can never go wrong..I guess it’s ok once in a while;)

Now that you mention Anamika, it makes sense that this might be her creation. Considering both are from Kolkata, their embroideries tend to be similar. Can you send us a picture of your version?
Wow! Am I the only person who thinks this is absolutely gorgeous? Look at the border! It’s divine! And the sleeves are lovely – the only thing I don’t like is the zip, but zips are everywhere right now – I hate them but designers seem to love them – and are putting them in the most awful places – why??! Even on the high street – you’ll see the most beautiful, delicate dress with a big ugly metal zip in the most obvious place just ruining it.

Go to the ‘The Directory’ Tab and select Sabyasachi and you can find all the stores he retails from outside of India.
it looks western minus the border. I would have preferred it all western or all indian.
