The child actors from Slumdog Millionaire also got to attend the Academy Awards. If I am not mistaken, when asked the boys mentioned that their suits from Brooks Brothers. (Correct me If I am wrong!)

The kids also got to visit Universal Studios while they were in L.A. You can check out the pics inside.

  1. OMG they look adorable! Here’s to the real stars of the film *raises glass*. I’m glad they are in the limelight finally, I was getting sick of Dev and Freida getting all the accolades without even doing anything to deserve it – Dev with his horribly out of place accent in the film and Freida doing little else than look sad. The amount of hype these two are riding on is ridiculous.

Best of luck kids! I wish all of you all the very best in your respective futures!

BTW, how great is it that Danny Boyle and the team are sharing the limelight with these kids, they are the true stars after all!

  5. thrilled the Real STARS of SDM are at the Oscars, but it is a shame to see that they are not accompanied by the older two stars, Frieda and Dev. Why the disconnect?

  6. Adorable. I am so glad they are there here ‘cos I think they did an amazing job in the film, even better than Dev & Frieda to be honest. The youngest version of Salim is simply brilliant in the film!

  9. Brought tears to my eyes when I saw how excited they were while being interviewed. Ridiculously cute, especially little Ayush. Oh and yes, I noticed Ashutosh “posing” a lot, so cute! Good for them because they truly deserved to be there and get showered with all that attention. Also, they all look age and event appropriate and very smart.

Just love them. we had tears in our eyes when we saw them being interviewed on the red carpet. They SO deserve every bit of the adulation and more!
Infact, Frieda Pinto had the smallest role among them all (and yet, the most limelight). The little Jamal and Salim had the most dialogs and most of the story, and I must say they were both so cute. They set the performances of the rest of the cast of kids. Imagine, the little Salim (Azhar) is actually a kid from the slums (and the little Rubina too)..and both Azhar and Rubina have the most angelic eyes and look. Your heart just melts seeing them smile their hearts out.
Kudos to the casting team for picking such a great cast of kids.

And Slumdog deserves every bit of adulation that comes it’s way. I wish there was a way (or a category) that the kids could have been nominated in for the oscars.
