At the bash for her team ‘Rajasthan Royals’, Shilpa seemed like she was setting the tone as to her expectations of the team by wearing gold from head-to-toe. (Reminding them of the IPL trophy, were we Shilpa? ;) )
Now, the gown reminds me of Jennifer Lopez and her Marchesa gown from the 2009 Golden Globes and while, Jennifer played down her accessories to let the gown talk, Shilpa accessorized with chunky gold Kundan jewellery to play off of the gold buttons on her gown.
Did it work for her? We think not. Bling overload was more like it! You?

I just watched an episode of ‘I dream of Jeannie’ inwhich she’s ddressed like a gold statue _ she looked cute though. Shilpa here – not so much (tsk tsk)
too much of a good thing makes it “oh so bad”. she could have done with the bling jewelry and gold sandals with another dress…here she looks like a trophy by herself…and not a coveted one at that!!

Not a flattering fit near tummy. A little OTT outfit. But her jewellary is nice but doesn’t go well with the whole look.

Her dress looks like the material wrapped around hot dogs from gas stations. I love the earrings, and she should have displayed them against a simple outfit. I think a white, Bengali-style sari or even a simple white gown would have been much better

Her dress looks tacky but I like her shoes. Is it me or Shilpa just doesn’t age? She started with Baazigar (1992!!!) but she looks about Priyanka Chopra’s age group.
The dress is so ill-fitting at the top. Plus, its a very stiff fabric, not flowy like JLo’s Marchesa. Thumbs down for Shilpa this time.

the top half of the dress would have looked good with some dark denims and flat sandals and all that jewellery.
and the dress seems ok but that slit makes it look tackier than her addiction of louis vuitton.
the only redeeming thing about her look is her tone down make up…i guess even shilpa is allowed to have an off day once in a while…but yeah, this is really OTT!

She definitely OD’d on bling, and the dress is pretty unimpressive in any case. And I HATE her hair here! It just looks so like a pine tree! That and all the bling makes her one step away from someone’s magically come-to-life christmas tree.

I never much like her dresses but this one is by far the worst. With such a great body like hers she can look classy, edgy, chic..enything and rock the look but somehow she always ends up looking tacky !!!

Yes, it is certainly taking JLo’s look a bit further.
But JLo saved it with a lot of skin show and simple studs and nude make up where as the desi version of the dress with all the Gold Buttons, shoes, bracelets and earrings is a serious let down :((.
