Like all the other guests that attended his show, Athiya also wore an outfit by Manish Malhotra picking a beaded top and satin tiered skirt by the designer. With a different skirt, I may have liked it, but as is, between the heavy handed blush and the asymmetric tier, I wasn’t a fan.

MM (and AJSK if I may add),let’s retire for the sake of fashion, for people who want to pursue fashion design as a career and most importantly to salvage whatever little presence we have on international fashion stage.
It will also save these celebs from obligation to wear these disasters.

I think Manish Malhotra has retired some 16 years ago. All the clothes are designed by his assistant fashion designers, whom he pays salary like 30,000 rupees per month for them. After they design he kinda gives green signal for show casing I think. All he does is staying in touch with Bollywood band wagon to make them wear his designs for free, for marketing. It’s free stuff, so celebs don’t mind wearing because they are not paying a penny out of their pocket, they are used to the free stuff and free perks they get as celebs…..kinda easy life style you know. Manish is just living and earning on the name of his brand from the past two decades without any creativity and using his brain for innovation.
I agree…but whatever be the modus operandi…it needs to stop and “anything for free”/”anything for friend” has a limit too.
This saga is just killing the purpose of fashion as well as design.
I think Manish Malhotra’s close relationship with Karan Johar is keeping him in industry as Karan’s one of the biggest producers and everyone wants to be in his good books..
Yeah that is one reason too. Creativity and talent comes from hunger. Manish Malhotra is having party meal everyday, from more than 2 decades. He is already too full. Manish lacks the hunger and desire to work hard on his creativity.

That bottom lehanga/skirt is ugly. To match its color, Athiya rolled in a tub of pink blush.
Really, what hold does MM have over these celebrities that they all agree to wear his horrendous designs? This series has been particularly bad. As if he has lost any iota of creativity he had , if he had any to begin with.
