Aishwarya & Pharell on Vogue: (Un)Covered

Comment image 38

Never in a million years would I have thought I’d see Aishwarya and Pharell on a cover together. But then, stranger things have happened. (Quite literally! :) )

While she does look phenomenal waist up (and am still figuring out where her lower half went), I am also wondering what led to the decision to make Pharrell wear different holi-colored clothes vs the ones he did have on while celebrating Holi (see below). Unless he attended another Holi party as well in the Adidas clothes and was just pressed for time to change. Can some fashion insider let us know! :P

Your thoughts!

P.S. Aishwarya is wearing Gaurav Gupta.

  1. On the one hand all the elite publications in the West champion, real and authentic and honesty and self worth and self esteem and “body image pride, skin color pride, gender pride” etc etc etc, and then they publish a cover with so much fixing/repairing/ glossing/correction/makeup/artificiality. I am guessing all the lessons are for the aam janta, not for the publications themselves :P
    LOL!!

Somebody needs to empty out the mehendi red hair color from her neighborhood medical shop shelf in Juhu :P
Aur bhi color hai duniya mein is ajeeb se lal ke siwa

In the bottom picture Pherrel looks like he ran away from a rabid, violent Holi mob (hehehe). Sad and lost!

  2. Stars need to say no to this level of Photoshoping. This is just unkind to their young fans who actually look up to them. This is just in poor taste.

  3. What an odd image – only half an Aishwarya dressed in couture literally yanking Pharrell’s chain, who is wearing something from his Holi sportswear collection for Adidas (a paid collaboration, possibly?). There is no shared vibe in the picture, both of them seem to be in separate zones – fashion wise or even mood wise. It just doesn’t add up, not even its novelty value enthuses.
It all just looks odd and ungainly.

  4. Wayyyy too photoshopped.. Aishwarya is probably double this size in real life and that should be embraced and depicted gracefully rather than this fakeness

  6. Reading the first few comments here (and many more to follow), I can see why she gets pissed off with Indian commentators.

Sometimes, it’s okay to just say, ‘naice….’ and move on. Bite the nails if you must or scribble into your dairy if you need to get rid of some of the frustration.

    • Plus, I get the optical illusion but she is clearly turned away from the camera and her lower body is hidden behind the dress.
Even for the Kangana Ranaut post, people are so acerbic, it might feel like these stars had caused some personal affront. People need to calm down a little bit. :-)

  7. Looks like the cover was for Aishwarya and Pharell was photoshopped into that cover. Or vice versa. Don’t feel the connect- are they doing anything together sometime soon? What did I miss?

  8. Such a weird cover. There is absolutely no connect between the two. Looks like he will run away the moment ash lets go. And she looks too photoshopped. Her waist has shrunk 3 sizes here.

  9. I was noticing just how much Aishwarya’s face has been photoshopped but didn’t realize she has an entire half missing from the picture.. Oh well ..
And is that really Pharell in the second picture ?

  11. I think its time when mags like ‘Vogue’ which is the ‘The Name’ in fashion stops using such extreme photoshop. Why need it for someone like Aishwarya Rai, who is gorgeous in every way or to give cheekbones to Pharrell!! Beauty is skin deep and if the camera can’t catch it then there is something wrong there

  12. Looks like this cover didn’t have much thought behind it. The distinct lack of chemistry between Aishwarya and Pharell makes it fall flat. I don’t get this random Bollywood unions, Kendall and Sushant Singh Rajput or this one. Pharell with indie singers from the country would have been so cool. Or if you must include Bollywood in everything, young-ish Bollywood singers like Neha Bhasin, Neeti, Shyamali etc would have been interesting too. As is it seems like two separate covers :/

  13. I think Pharell’s clothes are are from his collaboration with Adidas and the print/ideas is based on Holi!
Aish looks stunning wait up. I was wondering where the other half of her body went!!!!!

  14. No red lipstick….big Yay! I love her make up. While that face is gorgeous as ever, they’ve photo shopped the heck out of Aishwariya, and that’s a real downer. Pharell looks good but I have to say I’m not a fan of the new addidas collection inspired by Holi.

  15. I swear never wud I also thought of Aish and Pharrell … but what a wow combination of them both !!!
Aish looked amazinggggggggggggggggggg but too much photoshopped:(
    She looked size 2 here

  16. If Aishwarya looks half of Pharell’s size on the cover, and Pharell is as small/thin as he is in the picture below, then you can get a good idea of how much Photoshop was involved :)
