Vidya filmed for Anumpam Kher’s show wearing a Rahul Mishra sari and Amrapali jewelry. Though cocktail rings on both hands seem a tad excessive, it really is a minor gripe given how nice Ms. Balan looked!
P.S: You can shop Rahul Mishra and Amrapali here.
Vidya Balan
She took my breath away. This has such a simple old school charm to it. It reminds me of Manisha Koirala from 1942 A love story. So pretty !!
True, Vidya looks so pretty. And that Manisha Koirala in 1942 comparison is one helluva compliment – Manisha looked luminous in that movie!
I’m getting a serious Tanuja (Kajol’s mom) vibe from vidya in this look. Of course, a much younger version of Tanuja.
Why oh why must u have a “minor gripe” with her every time ? She looks incredible and considering how simple the dress is , the rings don’t look out if place
My thoughts exactly! I don’t know why people always find some fault with her. She’s a beautiful woman and looks phenomenal here.
its possibly because p and p need everyone/everything to look like it came out of a tanya ghavri lookbook. their sensibility is SO three years ago.
Love. So stunning. I feel like draping a sari to work tomorrow :)
Wow she gives me the Parineeta vibe.. beautiful!
The sari is properly draped and the face looks GORGEOUS. Skipping the kajal/liner once in a while is a great idea
so so elegant and beautiful…
she looks lovely. The minimal make up looks great on her.
How beautiful does she look! No gripes!!
lovely! and it seems this hairstyle has taken years off her !
Love this! So elegant, so well-put-together, so well-draped. And her face! Dewy and fresh.
That saree is beautifully draped! She looks charming!
finally, finally Vidya’s draped her sari perfectly!it makes so much difference, actually shaves off inches rather than adding bulk. she looks beautiful with minimal makeup, and the rings too look pretty good .
Vidya looks beyond gorgeous. So Pretty!
However, I have a point to make. I just went to the website and saw this Rahul Mishra Saree costs 14,500. First of all, being born and brought up and shopping around in Calcutta for eons, I can vouch for the fact that there is nothing designer about the Saree. You get similar handoven sarees in almost every Saree store in Bengal, for less than Rs.800.
So, IMHO Designers should up their ante and bring something new to the table in order to quote those ridiculous prices for their already overrated clothes.
most designer saree have little originality left about them and cost the earth. then again, this can be said for so many designer things that it just sounds “grapes are sour”. but this saree costing 14,500 is definitely on the ridiculous side.
Aww….. How lovely she looks…. Minimal makeup and lovely hair do!!!
:) She looks lovely!! And SUCH pretty earrings!
She resembles Juhi Chawla here somehow!
How pretty she looks! No gripe at all. Love the way it’s put together. Way to go Jayati Bose. Very simple and heart-warming look. She’s such a beautiful woman.
Hi
I’m wondering if the site that you’ve linked is completely reliable? and if I can order tthings from europe too?
Regards
Yes. We’ve ordered from Pernia’s and can vouch for it.
Saree is simple and not designer worthy at all! Is it just me or is her hair odd with all those bumps /waves? She seems to have lost weight and has worn her saree perfectly!
She looks soo pretty here! And love the hairdo, it makes her look youthful and fresh!
Her drape is so nicely done this time!!! She looks lovely.
She looks perfect.
i love the hair. usually she looks so unkempt with the hair just flowing around. here she has actually styled it. her face is glowing!!!
so simple and old school. love. totally
Here, she reminds me of a Doordarshan anchor, in a good way, of course. But those twin cocktail rings are mighty distracting, even tacky.
She looks sooo cute!! Love her sari.
Madam Vidya: “Give me more. More rings!!!!! My fingers are hungry for more rings!!!! Aaaaaaarrrgh!!! I said more rings!!!”
