Sari Style
Vidya helped unveil Sukanya Venkatraghavan’s first book in Mumbai wearing a printed sari with a cobalt blue blouse. Given the event question, the Punjabi text print sari made for a cute pick but between the necklace and the red lip, one felt like there was one red element too many.
A pure silver necklace would’ve worked better here.

Appropriate for a book launch, I think. Not crazy about the lip color at all.
Messy drape, messy hair. Looks like she has exactly zero f***ks to give about the event.
I think she just dresses up like this. I just happened to be there at the said book shop looking for some good reads for me and the kiddo. And in she walked. She’s quite close to the author who’s an ex-Filmfare writer and also a Mallu like her. Something Vidya brought out in her interaction. She was actually quite pleased to be there supporting her friend. And had actually read the book! Because she asked rather pertinent qs.
Actually these photos don’t do justice to her. She actually looked quite pretty. And rather affable. I was a bit taken aback by how young and charming she is. Had half a mind to go in for a selfie. But then everyone had the same idea!
She is from Kerala but she is not a Mallu, she is a Tamilian.
LOL! And that is usual, ain’t it? :P
She looks fabulous! <3 Stop being fussy about the "rules".
Haha. This strange tucking the pallu thru her arm looks like her solution to the arm-crook issue!
(Not that it helps. Looks like she doesn’t know what to do with her hands while wearing a saree and not having something to hold.)
Oh and when i was there I did wonder if this would come up in HHC :)
This is the best look I have seen in a while – something youthful about the sari and colours that works for her.
+1 Yep, I agree I kinda like this look much more than some of her recent looks, and she glows!!
She is so beautiful !!!!
She is an Indian woman and wears a saree like how all women in India (or the rest for that matter) wear it. No weird drapes, no boob show blouses no belts etc and that’s what I admire the most about her.
Uggh, this looks terrible..the saree, the sloppy drape, the blouse, jewellery…I could go on more… :(
