Bounipun by Zubair Kirmani

Low Point: None really..

Priyanka Says
High Point: Could wear those pieces off the runway, into everyday life!

Low Point: An extremely commercial collection, not necessarily a bad thing but wish there were at least some pieces that showcased the creativity of designer no holds barred.

Priyanka Says
High Point: Loved the use of color and graphics. So street chic!

Payal Says
High Point: Loved the outfits with the rust colors..

Low Point: Same old tried and tested designs…

Priyanka Says
High Point: The play on Indian print on western silhouette worked.

Payal Says
High Point: The brass lamps and dancing!

Low Point: Same as the last collection.

Priyanka Says
High Point: Classic Indian design, prints and silhouettes with clean, minimal design that make them timeless. Love the jackets over saris.

Low Point: Needs to move away from jeweled prints and accents. It’s a signature look and all that, so do a few pieces and move on. Really.

Payal Says
High Point: Loved the blues and mirrorwork..

Low Point: While I loved the kali print top, reminds me so much of Manish Arora!

Priyanka Says
High Point: Loved the day dresses and skirts in creams, whites and blues. Also, the kali print tops.

Low Point: The floral print dresses were a big let down as were the kaftans. Even the day wear fared better only in comparison, the collection in itself was disappointing.

Day 5: Rohit Bal

Rohit Bal closed the fashion week this year and his collection called ‘Siyahi’ was truly fitting the finale.

The way the colors progressed during the show were really interesting, there were ecrus and whites, and shades of blues and greens. The cuts and designs ranged from flowy fabrics to origami-like folds to heavily puffed skirts to ultra structured jackets and sherwanis for men and women…

The design was varied and the collection had a bit of everything.

Day 5: Prriya and Chintans

Prriya and Chintan’s collection just plain failed to impress me. The duo supposedly have drawn inpiration from “Oasis” but I just fail to get it though. The clothes seems to be haphazard and frazzled with just too many things going on. The color scheme just seemed all wrong for a show that is supposed to suggest tranquility in the midst of a harsh desert.

Day 5: Falguni And Shane Peacock

I really liked Falguni and Shane Peacock’s collection. The colors were bright, prints were delightful, embellishments were well thought out and the cuts worked. The collection was a smorgasbord of luxurious fabrics, prints, colors and textures!

I didn’t care for the longer gowns, but the shorter ones and the tops worked! Sure, some pieces were OTT but they were OTT in a kitschy way so I can’t really complain.

What I can’t get over is our Bollywood obsession. Amrita Arora walked the ramp. In some monstrosity. Looking quite out of her element and trying way too hard. Do people still say ‘whatever’ ? Because, I’d like to. Whatever.

Barring the celeb intrusion, loved the show.

Day 5: Ashish, Viral and Vikrant for Virtues

Can you ever go wrong with White. Me thinks No. Can you ever go wrong with Paisley prints. No again. That was the dominant feature of the “Indian High” collection by Ashish, Viral and Vikrant. Personally, I liked the outfits which were predominantly white or had more of the paisley on mustard.

Here are a few of my favorites from the collection..
