In Manish Malhotra
Sridevi kicked off Mom promotions this week and was seen wearing a striped Manish Malhotra sari to one of the events. Between the floral embroidery and the stripes, the sari sure felt busy but the simple styling helped balance out the look.
She made it work.

Trust MM to spoil a silhouette by going OTT!! That sari would have looked gorgeous without the floral embroidery on the pleats. Oh well – at least he designed something half decent this time.

Yes, exactly.
Are you kidding with your “she made it work ” she looks stunning!!!
She looks nice and wears the saree well as usual. Not really liking the weird combo of stripes and floral print.
I quite like that look. Trust sridevi to pull something reasonable out of his collection.
I saw in a newspaper that someone was required to hold up the pallu….sheesh!
I think the saree is good and she for a change has dressed her age and certainly looks good.

I guess this is for the first time I loving MM’s creation. I just love the combo of stripes n floral n often combine my floral skirts with striped tops or floral tops with striped pants! Here the floral embroidery on saree’s pleats doesn’t look ott. Kindly give credit where it is due! It has been few seasons where stripes n floral combo is doing the round. It is good to see this combo in Indian wear n that too in a saree! Sri is looking very youthful n chic! What a difference a bling free attire n toned down makeup can bring in one’s appearance. When I talk about age apt dressing, I mean this! The overall look is so age approprite yet very contemporary n smart!!
I didn’t notice the floral print on the saree until I read your comment. Now, it doesn’t look as weird I felt earlier. Clean, mess-free simple make is very refreshing!
Feeling relieved after seeing a normal sari look…in the other post kanganas sari look is ridiculous…sridevi looks so pretty…its irritating to see horrible experimental sari looks.
I like this saree on Sridevi. Subtle and lovely.
Guess your photog edited out the lady who was holding her pallu :)

Agree ! the floral embroidery spoilt it!!
She looks fabulous. Sridevi & Saris are like the best combo. Be it a kanchivaram or such MM.
This sari reminds me of one of those Garden Vareli saris of the past.
She looks lovely. I wish the saree only had the stripes and no floral on it, then the contrast would have been perfect. But Sridevi carries it off with elan.
That embroidered blouse and the embroidery on the sari brings down the look several notches. I could see this with a blouse embellished with a geometric pattern – the floral embroidery is so meh.
Where’s the lady who was holding up the pallu? She deserves to be tagged as well. Heck she needs a post for herself!
