In Anamika Khanna
Sonam kicked off IIJW, being held in Delhi this time, wearing an Anamika Khanna with jewellery from mom Sunita’s Signature Line Jewels collection.
Given the event in question, do you think the floral lehenga was the right pick as it complements the jewellery well or do you think it takes attention away from it.

The length of the sleeves just kills it for me. They look so matronly.
Would have been a great lengha without those ugly sleeves.
Pretty, but a little too contrived for my taste. One needs a sort of effortless, less self-conscious charm to truly lend beauty to an outfit like this, and that just isn’t coming across here with Sonam (or in a lot of her more unconventional outfits nowadays, IMHO). When does a statement-making outfit cross the line into being contrived, I wonder? Just something to ponder.
The floral lehenga complements the jewellery perfectly… love the look :)
Arms to die for indeed.Magazines should stop fabricating stuff, esp one like Women Health that cater to readers who genuinely want to live a healthy lifestyle.

Thw lehenga is beautiful, the chunni is also to die for, but the top is too conservative. Considering this is a jewelry show and the beautiful jewelry one finds in India, the necklace and earrings are a disappointment. I expects much much more from sonam.
the jewellery is lovely and the outfit is fab.
The lengha is fine. The sleeves of the blouse are wrong but the biggest problem is the neckline. It just kills the necklace. I can’t stand when ppl wear their necklaces on the fabric like that . These necklaces scream out for a correct neckline and a collar isn’t it!
That orange and the floral does kill it for the jewellery she’s wearing!Honestly, I noticed the ensemble more than what she’s wearing in the neck. Definitely does takes away attention from her jewellery!
Wow, heart that lehenga!!!
Don’t know what I love more-jewellery or lehenga? It’s a complete drool-worthy look from head to toe :D
This looks very dehati not in a good way….I love traditional Indian folk outfits BUT this one totally lacks beauty.
In reality, one wears accessories to compliment an outfit, not to highlight it, yes this is a Jewellery show, but that is something real! And one who loves clothes and fashion, should be more acceptable in terms of different cuts and silhouettes. Sigh!
Love this look. Especially the Lehenga Choli. After seeing all those itsy bitsy blouses with lehenga, this looks refreshing n gorgeous.
Agreed!
love love the look.. the lehenga, the nehru neck top and the oh so lovely chunni.. koi mujhe de do yaar
Its a very retro, Rajasthani royalty look, which rich Marwari ladies who actually buy the expensive jewellery in pots, will love. I like – I may not wear it , but I like to see fashion references in an appropriate stage. Not every look is for the likes of Bollywood sophisticates, like, Gauri Khan say. Some looks are for the bahurani in Rajkot! And I like a different look once in a while.
J’dore this! In its entirety. Specially like the detail of the leaf overhangs at the lehenga’s hem.
love the skirt n chunni but GAWD that hideous blouse just kills it for me….why does Sonam has a nack for granny type blouses(sleeves)…not a fan of the necklace as well…
Atrocious sleeves on that blouse, but compared to the ghastliness of the other looks at the same show, this look is a winner! Apart from the fact that Sonam looks pretty, the nice hairstyle and she carries the look well, the jewelry at least is noticeable, when compared to all the other looks that have been featured here.
didnt like the outfit at all….especially for the opening of such an event
qhat you think Payal?
the lehenga and the jewellery looks great. wish she had thrown away that duppatta though
The necklace is really gorgeous but wearing it on top of that hideous “blouse” should be a punishable offense
