Sari Style
Opting for simple saris and wearing them well were these ladies at their respective events. You may say Mini isn’t quite hitting the mark but we’ll take her casually worn look over a blingy one any day.
Update: Mini’s pic was taken late at night after the event.

I actually don’t fault Mini’s sari or draping. I just wish she has a bit of makeup on. I mean just a tiny bit, maybe make those eyes pop with some liner/kajal.
Love the tribal necklace on Konkona, except it’s too much for the saree…would have looked smashing with a simple round-neck kurta.
Love Mini’s saree…but why that white blouse? It’s too stark against the muted neutrals of the saree. I’m sure there’s a black sleeveless blouse hiding somewhere in her closet!!
vidya should take lessons from these women. this is the way to make the sari your signature without it looking sloppy or tacky
Mini’s saree is fabulous! And I like the contrast with the white blouse. Though’s Koko’s look is somewhat cluttered here but she still manages to look graceful.
I know! LOVE Mini’s saree, want it right now!
+1
lol! LOVED Mini’s tweet cribbing about the photo being taken at 2am and the saree palla being ulta!
Konkona’s necklace, although beautiful, looks overbearing for the saree, but she does look good. Mini also looks adorable, sans make-up.
love love love
these two women are right up my style alley :)))
I think the saris are Raw mango. They have some delicious saris.
Oh good heavens Every handloom saree seen on this site need not be from Raw Mango! Fact: sarees have been woven in India since time immemorial. Raw Mango didn’t invent them. Yes, they’ve done a great job giving handloom Chanderis a new life. But they didn’t invent them.
haha! I agree with eclat.
haha. Touche. mentioned this somewhere else myself! It’s like people dont know handloom sarees are available elsewhere, infact where i come from they are the norm, as for most middle class folks in various parts of the country. The MM and other chiffony blingy stuff we usually see on page 3 is really another dimension of reality.
If you go shopping for sarees you notice that people, even prospective brides, automatically discard traditional weaves. They are looking for the blingy ones. Sad!!!
Both look lovely. It would be wonderful to see more Bolly folk dress like this.
P&P – Do you by chance know what kind of saris these are ? I love this material!
These saris are OK as one of the outfits in a wardrobe, it would get boring really fast if everyone started dressing like this all the time. I actually like bling, when done right.
I love Konkana’s saree and the necklace. Fabulous !! She looks gorgeous !
Love both the sarees and the looks.
I love Mini’s saree collection..lovely :)..some ppl just have an eye for good sarees :)…yeh yeh vidya,ameesha,shriya.. I was talking to you guys..lololzz
