Screening Style
Rhea, who’s the producer of Khoobsurat, hosted a private screening of the movie on Tuesday night keeping it casual in an Isabel Marant Étoile sweatshirt with black pants and her Céline loafers.
We’ll admit, after all of Sonam’s non-stop dressed up looks, this dressed down sighting of Rhea made for a nice change. Made you feel like, yep, the’re human too. :P

I know what you mean, but I wish she had worn a pair of jeans instead of those black pants.
YES. As it stands, this looks pretty dreadful.
yeah… humans who buy $200 sweatshirts. lol
LOL.
hahahahaa
1. That is just terrible. 2. You are giving Rhea Sonam’s dress-up credits. What the heck? I feel bad for celebrities without siblings now.
lol…well said. one sis is dressing up OTT, becuz of PROMOTIONs (where everyone dresses up, btw). so its ok for 2nd sis to look like she just rolled out of bed in Pajamas.
I can’t understand since when fashion is a team game. One has been dressing OTT so the other can look dowdy??? I didn’t realise “they” was a term in critiquing someone’s dress sense.
How awkward does she look. I mean I don’t mind the clothes but look at her arms and legs. Or may be she’s just camera shy and doesn’t know what to do with them. :)
Is she an undergrad whose alarm failed her and had to run for class right out of bed? Unacceptable!
hahahah.. she looks funny
Ridiculous…being human doesn’t mean dressing so sloppily. She didn’t even get the time to brush her hair?
Why would you even post this?
This is just so bad, i can’t believe you like this! uggh.
lol sorry but Rhea always looked human to me, never “out of the world”-ly.. whatever “humans” dress like..
It’s been a while since I’ve seen photos of Rhea. I know she’s not an entertainer, but her clothes used to be fun, quirky and interesting. Not anymore. Now her clothes are boring and she looks ….unkempt.
“Human”?! haha…They’re just ordinary people with fat bank accounts! :)
Also, this is pretty awful look for a grown-up woman. Please don’t be biased in your opinions.
Shes not even a celeb , whys she even featured here , that too in drab clothes….i would have understood if u featured her for some nice designer dress shes wearing…
Does this look even deserve a post?
is that Rekha next to her?
yes, is it?
You guys could’ve posted Rekha instead of Rhea. Clearly she is not dressed for the camera and looks awkward in the picture. The outfit is drab, colors don’t complement her skin tone..just not worth posting.
There are a few things that have been doing rounds in my head about fashion and clothes and I hope you don’t mind if I went on a tangent on your comment section for mo. Is fashion inherently misogynistic? You only have to look at the comments to realise how prejudiced we are about women’s bodies and how they are presented. Either someone is not wearing clothes that suit her body type – and what is that? Chances are that she is not stick thin and looks normal (or curvy, in PC speak) and wears clothes that hug those bumps which are considered unsightly. Therefore she should have hidden them away in underwear that smoothens those bumps making them seem even. Better still, she should have worn baggier clothes. And then there are those who are routinely chided for not wearing ‘age appropriate clothes’. Which is that if you are 30 and above, then anything that shows that deeply offensive body part called the knee is not acceptable. And if you are in yours 20s and wearing comfortable shoes and clothes, then you are deemed to look ‘mature’. And what I have cited above are merely cursory observations of arbitrary rules that are not applicable to men. These lead to wonder if fashion at its core, misogynistic? And if so, are websites like the HHC pandering to this deeply troubling practice?
To answer your question. Yes it can be misogynistic. Because mostly commenters focus on personalities. If they like someone perfect if not it gets bitchy. But fashion is like art. The clothes themselves and styling should be commented on. Not size or personality. Also should be kept fun and not serious. Same goes for men. But sadly netiquette doesn’t exist.
PnP this is a very silly post. You are very close to straying into fawning and favouring and followers may soon leave.
Totally! Please dont make it boring with these “pajama looks” and force me into looking elsewhere for bollywood fashion…
Hopefully I can answer your questions. You raise a few very good points. I am one of the people who comments on Parineeti’s choice of clothes and I hate Madhuri’s dressing style.
• Dressing for a body type means a number of things. It is not necessarily a condescending thing. For instance, if you are short & wide you would want to avoid a dress with horizontal stripes as that will make you look shorter & wider. It just means wearing what looks aesthetically pleasant. Neha Dhupia is not stick thin either but she looks great in body hugging clothes. I can’t say the same for Parineeti. Hence Parineeti gets criticized for her choices. Not because she isn’t thin but because regular followers of this blog have seen celebrities who are not so thin get the clothes right.
• Moving on to comments that are age appropriate. Madhuri gets these in abundance. I don’t think any other celebrity gets a lot of age appropriateness comments. May be Malaika Arora Khan. There are 2 problems here. First they don’t get the outfit right. Madhuri never dresses according to what suits her. Next most of her looks are dated. Be it the hair, outfit and accessories. And sometimes flaunting a body part that you don’t need to or an event does not demand it. For instance why would you constantly want to flaunt your waist on jhalak dikhlaja. Have you seen any other celebrity do it? Even the guests on the show are so well dressed (Kareena, Shraddha, Alia, Deepika etc). It’s a combination of lot of these things that leads to those age appropriateness comments. No one criticizes Sri devi or Tabu or Juhi.
I don’t think is misogyny. I think it is a good way to point out flaws. Thanks to HHC, my fashion sense has improved over the years. I am curvy and I can take cues from Neha Dhupia in terms of how to dress. Also I know what not to wear looking at Parineeti Chopra ?
Ditto. Though I don’t understand how you decide age-appropriateness in men’s attire. A suit is a suit, no? I haven’t seen any Indian men on here I would deem dressed inappropriately. There is that one dude that all girls fawn over who wears flaming clothes, but that’s just his taste I suppose.
Now I have seen the Big B in a speedo on a beach and I lost my appetite for days. Anil Kapoor with that stupid earring during the Slumdog days was..yuck. And yet, if you can pull it off without looking like you got off the peopleof walmart pages, kudos to you.
How is this any better or worse than what celebrities wear while traveling . So in P&P ‘s defense I would say it is fine to post this. How she looks is a different story. I don’t mind it but I am not gaga over it either.
she is at work for god’s sake!! its not easy making a film…and add to that the stress pre-release. I think she still manages to look great!!! let her be you naysayers. Go HHC, good job!!!
My eyes rolled so far back reading this comment by “producer.”
Aren’t we being a little biased here PnP? You wouldn’t have liked this at all if it were someone else!
We never said we liked it. We’re just saying it is nice to see a dressed dowdy look as well.
What’s nice about it? And what in the world is a “dressed dowdy look?”
Seriously! P&P – are you just inventing new terms to give some looks a pass now – “dressed dowdy look” bwahaha! And echoing similar comments – where did you pull out this logic from – one sister OTT so other is “dressed dowdy” and it’s okay!? And come onnnn “human” – you are in the minority if you consider either of these two mortal beings i.e. the Kapoor sisters, anything more than “human”. Sorry, but silly post guys.
I meant a dressed down, dowdy look but somewhere in the middle the internet ate my words. :P
Agreed! But she could have done dressed down better!Like you say for a lot of others..
For the first time perhaps, Rekha is wearing a non blingy saree and you dont feature her and instead post this ? SMH !
and what’s wrong with a dressed down look? its just a screening…work! almost everyone these days seems to dress up for the red carpet / shaadi , same stylists doing the rounds. its great to have this featured. and thankfully its not another posy pic (read pout).
Also, this is a classic case of wearing expensive labels head to toe and coming out looking ridiculously dowdy.
why do u even have to feature Rhea wearing this rubbish…I mean kuch bhi daal diya and kuch bhi publish kar dete hein?
Yes, I am so glad to see this. She looks exactly like I do when I am rushing to drop off my son at school and hoping none of the other parents catch sight of me. Go rhea !
I saw Khoobsurat yesterday and loved the styling on Sonam – very fresh youthful looks miles away from what she wore during promotions!
I love Rhea here, that easy vibe yet so much shyness:) I think her personality is like that – allows the others to take a center stage:) the look I love from head to toe – she wanted to dress like that and she did it without even thinking about the backlash she will receive!!
Ah..I’d have no complaints if she’d carried the Isabel marant love down to her toes. Some of those yummy wedge sneakers would’ve made a world of difference!
