Parvathy placed second in the Miss World 2008 race, which sure is an improvement over past years where India has been shut out of the top five.
Someone tell her she did good, cuz in the pic, she doesn’t look happy at all!
(I haven’t done fact-check on the top five part, so correct me if I am wrong.)

And aww, yes she looks sad. She’s much prettier than miss Russia! In fact, Russian girls are often quite beautiful and I don’t know how they picked this one among all of them! She looks like Mary Kate/Ashley Olsen! eeuw.
I really thought she was going to WIN. I was rooting for her. She did great!! Her hair was messed becase the previous Miss World messed it up whilst putting her crown on!!

Lol well this Russian girl is still beautiful but I tend to prefer the dark haired light eyed combo myself. Umm….ya her hair is def a mess. N 2nd place always sucks.. feel bad for her.

i think Ms Russia is really pretty.. and so is our Miss India.. i wished she had won the crown , but top 3 is good too!

Oopsies, I missed the competition but I’m glad to see this! Yay for herrr she should be happy! Maybe she is and the camera captured the point-one-second where she was thinking about how she was almost number one.

i think parvathy is extremely pretty and talented but she lacks something. i dont know, she doesnt have the charm that aishwarya/sush/priyanka had. Oh well, maybe we will win it next year!!!

firstly being 2nd is a great achievement.
Personally i’m shocked she made it to the top five, and if she can’t even fake happiness like the trinidad contestant and play the part she doesn’t really deserve anything.
I thing out of the 2 in the pic, trinidad lady looks the best.
Miss Russia looks like SIENA MILLER, I don’t like that actress much.
Parvati is a great looking model…but am not sure about her being Miss World…like gwen77 mentioned, she lacks that sparkle, I think. But I am really proud of her and real glad India made it to the finals after so long ! Congrats…
I really didnt want her to be there after the top 15 models – she just didnt match up, in all fairness – her body was stiff, she just had one pose of kissing and spreading her hands over a thousand times – I thought the South African girl was much better!
Now she claims that the jury was unfair… but i think she should consider herself more than lucky.. coz.. i mean.. i think she doesnt have the looks… and i think for being a beauty queen, beauty has to be considered.. Just brains and lack of beauty beauty doesnt make miss world!
hmm… i didnt think much of her when she won miss india itself so i am shocked she made it this far. looks quite a mess here too.
