On a rainy day in NY, Padma was spotted breaking up her predominantly black outfit with a bright pair of colored denims.
You like? (I didn’t mind the outfit up until the rain boots, at which point, there was just too much black going on…)

Actually likin’ the look. If you look at the grey NY landscape, the black and white ensemble suit the environs. To bring a splash of orange on a rainy day is a nice touch.

I think I love it. What’s a girl gonna do if it rains? I am ok with the rain boots as well. And she is on trend with the colored denim. Love it.
pnp just curious to know what other color boots can she wear with that out fit.
Red color boots will be too much red, brown would be clashing with the black & red outfit, white boots will make the look christmasy.
so i think she is left only with black :-)

Okay, so what colour boots would have been right? IMO, this is perfect! Need the bright red for this dull weather.
In this case, since the rain boots were necessary, perhaps a different color jacket would work. But, then I am all about happy colorful rainboots. Black would be kind of last choice when picking rain boots. :)
but the point of wearing a pant instead of a colored jacket is the surprise…..the latter would have been too predictable. I am really digging this look, perhaps will try one to rev up my boring palette.
May we suggest colorful rain boots. There are so many options!
I like that keeping everything else simple (i.e. black and white) makes the red stand out. Red is too bold a colour to have had one more colour against it

May I remind you that this is just an “out and about” look…most of us would just throw in a tee over our jeans/capri!
I disagree with all this judging of casual outfits….you don’t have to dress to the nines or be fashion savvy when running errand or just taking a walk or whatever…..
Who cares if I’m wearing colorful boots or black boots as long they are functional for the current weather…..just my opinion…
I agree; she looks very NY chic and this is also pretty much the model-off-duty uniform.
Colored rain boots would have been silly; and to pick on her for wearing rain boots is absolutely ridiculous.

What color boots would you have preffered? Tan?
There are so many options. polka dots over white background would’ve been perfect to offset all the black… Right now though I have my eye on some lime green rain boots. Just gotta save up. :)
well, but colourfull rain boots need more monotonous coloured clothes.. i cant imagine polka dots or lime green boots with this outfit..that wld be WTHeyy…

I have a pair of really cute pink rain boots but i always wear it with standard blue denims , It would look totally clownish if I wore it with any other color denims let alone red. Padma looks effortless and chic.
Somehow I do find that pink is a color harder to wear with other colors… My suggestion would be polka dots or any print pattern over a white background. Easier to mix and match with different outfits.
i think u can wear the pink boots with tan,grey or white denims, but then the top should be tan, grey or white only, or tan, grey or white top with little pink color. too much color will clash with the pink i would say. hope it helps.
