Wearing a simple lehenga by mom Neeta, Nishka tied the knot with Druv Mehra last week in a low-key ceremony at the Isckon temple in Mumbai. Our congratulations to the newly weds.

Everybody looks so lovely, classy and traditional! Love the vibrant colours of Nishka’s lehenga. The groom’s yellow kurta is so cheery too. Great to see!
Very pretty. Love the simplicity and colours.
Lovely. SO much better than the monstrosities that Salman’s sister was wearing in the name of Sabya.
Love the colors of her lehenga. Whole family looks fab.
Very pretty colors and jewellery. The draping is an eyesore on both Lullas. The pallu should not be worn that way, looks tacky on junior and messy on senior..
+1
beautiful! simplicity has an old world charm and grace.
Simple and very pretty. Love the colours. Would have been a lot more elegant and classic bridal look had she not let the boobs hang out and draped the dupatta properly.
Gorgeous colours but neeta shouldn’t have worn similar shades to the bride
Otherwise the whole simple look is so refreshing
How nice do they all look! Also appropriate for the venue in question :)
Lovely colours. Just think that the Neeta’s colours clash with Nishka’s. She should’ve let Nishka stand out :)
So refreshing to see a simple wedding amidst the flashy weddings of Bollywood!
Also love the fact that the bride, the groom and the bride’s mother kept it tasteful. Kudos!
Agree!
Love the colors, love that she went very simple too opposed to weddings these days. The couple looks amazing, God bless. Hearty congratulations to the newly weds!
I’m curious that this should be considered a lehenga.
To my Tamilian eyes, it looks like a “pavadai dhavani,” which is actually the dress a girl wears between puberty and full-on womanhood. And by the same token, it’s (and no shade here–this purely academic) odd to see a bride wearing a pavadai dhavani.
Someone please school me on why this is a lehenga and I’m wrong.
Agreed…i was thinking the same too as to how this is a lehenga when the material, stitching and style looked like a pavada( pavadai)…
A lehenga is simply the Hindi word for pavadai. She has draped her odhni the South Indian way, instead of the oft-seen Gujarati style. There is nothing more to it.
It is A Pavada Dhavani by all means.People are so specific to call the suits different names – Patiala, Anarkalis and so on. But when it comes to this they refer to it as lehegna. It is Pavda Dhavani (Half sari) calling it lehenga is silly. And you are right about who wears pavda dhavani traditionally. But times have changed (change is the only constant :P) now in South too. They wear pavda dhavani (not in the traditional silk though) made from nets and georgette for weddings.
I agree. I prefer calling this way of wearing the dupatta/dhavani as pavadai dhavani or atleast as half saree. The material and colours are always changing. The style of draping the dupatta is what defines it.
In Telugu it is called Langa Oni, the Hindi translation is Lehenga Odni. So calling this outfit a Lehenga is justifiable I feel because Langa Oni is a traditional wear for young unmarried girls in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.
Oh..Nishka look lovely…. love the colours & cheeriness.
I love the colours!!! And yes it’s a massive improvement on what poor Arpita wore at her wedding.
Why would she not wear the dupatta across her chest? Beats me. Such a charming look but I wish she’d draped the dupatta better.
Love the simplicity and the colors. It is all very elegant…BUT…I really hate when women do the boob flash with saris, lengha, etc. It takes all the elegance out of it. Just do the draping appropriately. That is what gives it the elegance. Otherwise, just put on a long skirt with a bikini top and a scarf.
Nishka’s outfit is lovely! Just wish mom dint compete so much with daughter for attention.
Hey pnp, please do post nishkas Bali wedding lehenga pic.its a very beautiful and intricate piece, better than most of the Neeta Lulla creations.nishka has put up the pics on instagram.i am sure the readers of hhc will like it !
