It was a Gaurav Gupta sari for Nisha Singh at WLIFW. I love the addition of the parandi, when was the last time we saw one! The sari itself… Meh! Not our cup of tea.

    • i love parandis but with a patiala. This parandi looks like it was actually bought in the 80’s and the chotti is so messed up too. FAIL

  1. The first thing that popped into my head was Priyanka’s similar saree from a while back and ironically that post is linked to this post if u see the other links below this pic…similar gold saree, one shoulder embellishment et al…and Priyanka def wore it better!

  2. @Padma- Get your facts right…Parandi can never be out of fashion for us, just like fulkari dupatta, salwar suits, etc typically associated with our Sikh community… coz it’s not just an hair accessory for us…no Sikh wedding, Baisakhi, Lohri, folk dances like Bhangra, Gidda would be complete unless sikh women wore a parandi!! Hope you get this one…

    • Hey…I totally get the traditional and cultural aspect of parandhis…it’s just out of place for a Fashion week…please, it was not meant to be offensive to any community; I have many Sikh friends to know it’s significance.

    • i think almost every bride wears them in a south indian wedding and most girls wear them with half sarees.

they are best hair accessory for a traditional dress & look.
