Ditto!

Either Ms. Bedi’s out of ideas or her stylist is. How else can we explain a third sighting (see the other two here) of her in an outfit we’ve seen before.

Already guilty of doing ‘One In Every Color’ multiple times (see here), now Ms. Bedi is on the ‘Do One Of Everyone Else’s Look’ roll.

  1. I get how lazy it might look, but maybe she just loved the look on Sonam! there is nothing wrong with her reinterpreting it, it´s a gorgeous sari. & She looks very cute, if not even more so than Sonam, which is no mean feat.

  2. Oh come on PnP! This and the last appearance were just the same outfits. You can’t hold that basic ditto against her like the green -gown-Kareena situation. The peter pan collar blouse plus saree was how it was presented on the runway. Last I checked Ms. Kapoor hadn’t yet started patenting her looks? :P

  3. Am just curious why it is wrong if someone has worn the same outfit before.. I used to have outfits which my friends also happened to have and we used to cherish wearing them..In the end, you wear what you like and I hardly think it is the world’s biggest mistake if you repeat that or someone happened to wear that before you. Shouldn’t they be given the right to worry about more serious issues?

  4. ‘Do One Of Everyone Else’s Look’. What a ridiculous thing to say. She is not professionally competing with these young actresses so its not a big deal for her to not to stand out from them. I actually like her dont-care attitude where she picks what she likes without worrying about who else might have worn it earlier.

  5. I dont get it !! What’s wrong with wearing a design that someone else has worn earlier ?
You are acting as if there was just one piece of that design made and Ms. Bedi stole it from Sonam’s closet !!

  6. Let’s not be snobs about people wearing dittos! Even Famous-adorable-awesome Kate (HRH, I mean) repeats her outfits! What matters is if they’re wearing them well….and Mandira can kick any 20-somethings a** anyday! :D

  7. I’m chiming with the rest because I really do think you’re being unfair. When it comes to some ladies, one of whom is also Minnisha Lamba, you guys tend to rarely have a positive/forgiving perspective.

Mandira Bedi has a smashing body and she can pull off a dress much better than some ladies in Bollywood and it’d be great if you gave her credit for dressing appropriately. Why isn’t this a “Who wore it better?”

And yes, Minnisha Lamba can dress better. So can Ameesha Patel.

  8. Seems like you all are sippin’ on some serious hatorade PnP! I get that she’s in the spotlight, so when she wears the same outfit people notice. But c’mon, seems like y’all are just picking a bone for the sake of picking one!

    • +1 … I thought i was the only one who felt so. While sonam gave a young one feel to the look, mandira draped it well and still had the fun feel to it

  9. I think Mandira looks great and in her defense, she’s one of the first celebs to really wear a lot of Sabya sarees and bring them to the forefront so to me even if Sonam wore this one before, Mandira’s look is more iconic. I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with a celeb wearing a look that’s been done before..the same outfit can be styled and worn very differently by 2 different people.

  10. That sari is totally Mandira’s style and she’s the one who got the idea of modernizing the sari going (I know not everyone agreed with her spaghetti straps but you have to admit she made it work before anyone else did)
I don’t understand the critisism here at all
I love Mandira – she hasn’t aged a bit in the last 15 years and to be honest she to be is more a style icon that Sonam is because she dances to her own tune
So no I don’t think she or her stylist are running out of ideas…She always dresses according to her style mantra and this sari totally fits
Sorry about ranting after everyone else already has but while there are several times I think you criticize the smallest things for the sake of criticizing (and that is your right since it’s your blog) – this one was a really odd thing to say. Especially when Mandira looks lovely in it (Sonam does too but for me Mandira pulls it off more because the sari is SO HER)

    • I also like that Mandira kept the lipstick print more subtle by letting it fall further down in the pallu
And you can’t deny that she carries a sari far more naturally than Sonam does

  11. I think its great that such a sweet ensemble as this was repeated, that peter pan blouse and saree begs for more sightings and Ms Bedi does total justice. Infact i cant imagine anyone aside from Sonam and Mandira (and maybe kagngana to ace this look)

Plus 1 to all the above comments that support repeat sightings!
