In Georges Hobeika
Mallika attended the amfAR gala wearing a lavender colored Georges Hobeika gown. A Hobeika the gown may have been, but between that sheer neckline and the embroidery, the gown itself looked rather tacktastic. Not helping was that poofy ponytail do that did not do Ms. Sherawat any favors either.
Oh Ms. Sherawat, just when you were having a good run, why did you have to go mess it up.
I have to disagree. Think she looks rather charming and statuesque here, and her hair works well!
I think she looks pretty darn fantastic! minimalistic makeup – check, minimalistic jewelry – check, endearing posture and smile – check.
The sheer panel could have been a tad darker to match her skin tone, however
I second that. She looks fine. The sheerness looks a little distracting but she looks nice.
Don’t like the sloppy boob show , the hair or even the dress.
Tacky head to toe, huh !
I actually liked it !
This gown reminded of Ash’s lavender Elie Saab gown from Cannes last year because of its colour. I think Mallika looks very pretty here. Love the gown on her. If anything, I feel her hair colour is too jarring. Because her hair are too black, they are clashing with the soft feminine colour of the gown. It would make a world of difference to her overall appearance only if she chooses a more natural looking hair colour. And kudos to her! That cleavage doesn’t look even remotely vulgar.
That’s an exquisite gown! She looks beautiful and for once classy and understated.
I like it too… She looks great. Given that you thought Kajal’s gold colored monstrosity was good, perhaps it’s your run as fashion critics that needs to be examined.
Pfffff… haha… true
The gown is quite elegant and tasteful. I doubt that on anyone else you would have called it tacky tacky. The hair, though, breaks the look.
Wish she had stuck to the original runway version of this gown. It looked so classy on the model. The sheer inlay and her hair ruins an exquisite gown :(
going by the illusion panel, this gown is obviously meant for a white woman — the sense of not-being-there would’ve definitely been heightened. on someone with Mallika’s skintone, it just looks like a lighter coloured panel — which is just odd.
Save the hair I think she looks nice. Keeping it fuss free has helped.
She looks pretty good; I did not find it tacky at all. But her hair could have been better.
P&P can’t help feeling this post is mean spirited .on any one else doubt you would have used the word tacktastic- you reserve it for a select few?
Glad I’m not the only one who thought she actually looks pretty good, not at all tacky or whatever!
Mallika looks beautiful, but she needs to leave the bouffant in the 60s where it belongs.
I agree, P&P. Unfortunately, tackytackytacky. A combination of the print and neckline, methinks.
Lighter hair and darker sheer panel would have been perfect as pointed by quite a few peeps here. However, even as is, this look is faaaaaar from being tactastic. This color looks great on her complexion. Give the lady a much deserved break. I agree that fashion critique is subjective but this is unnecessarily dismissive!
Disaster hahahhahaaaaa !!
