In Ankita

At a panel discussion about higher education in New Zealand, Kriti was seen wearing a teal chiffon dress by Ankita paired with cream ankle-strap sandals. Given the occasion, the outfit worked. It didn’t feel too filmy or too OTT.

Liked that she went low-key for the event?

  1. I get having celebrities as chief guests is the new in thing, but why have one for a higher education panel discussion? Most have barely graduated from High School.

  2. I agree that event organizers rope in any celebrity to bring in publicity, whether the celeb is appropriate for the event or cause.

However, in Kriti’s defense, she is a qualified engineer :)

  3. NZ is not on the radar as an education destination. It is US, Europe and then Australia as is evident in the ranking of various universities from the USA. However, education industry in NZ is the third largest export earner, with earnings to the tune of 3 billion and they aim to make, 5 billion by 2025. The ranking of NZ universities are abysmally low but then most Indian students want the tag of having studied abroad. Most of the institutes have rather poor standards. So I guess they just have to resort to these stunts. Having said that it is a beautiful country to visit and come for holiday but definite no-no when it comes to education. I am in academia.

    • This is absolute BS. NZ is a country of 4 million so we have to keep that in mind when talking about these things. The top university in NZ (University of Auckland) is well regarded world over and ranks 82 in the world. While that is definitely not in the same league as Oxbridge and Ivy Leagues colleges I wouldn’t call it abysmally low. Having a university in the top 100 as a country of 4 million is amazing. In any case it is a lot higher than any Indian university so it is still worth targeting Indians.

      • India, Greece, and Iran have no Universities in the top 100, but produce excellent students, academics, and researchers. Unfortunately, rankings are based on research/citations/peer review, and most research in the world is conducted at grad and Phd level. These students who are really good, end up going abroad for the better facilities/money/mentors. For undergrad though, I would still consider top Universities in these countries to be better than those in New Zealand.

  4. If I were a prospective student, having Kriti Sanon at an event for higher education would be my first red flag.
That said, she is looking very pretty and the teal chiffon is gorgeous (both my fav. color and material). She is so skinny and that makes her pull anything off!
