Post the Karan Johar show, Gauri switched into a Fall 2009 Versace dress pairing it with her Chanel clutch and silver slip-ons. I wish we had better pics than the ones taken in the dark because from these, the dress looks bad on Gauri. Also, ff I had my way, I’d ban thong-sandals forever. But, then that’s just me. :P

That’s crazy expensive. I like the color on the model – not the teal color Gauri’s wearing. And I don’t like the shoes with it – I agree, ban those thong sandals!

Not feeling it on Gauri at all esp after the impressive ramp outfit that she worked oh so well. But I love thong sandals-so nice to quickly slip on and head out

like her make up and hair, the dress makes her look like a solid gold dancer. I do like the sandals, but not with this dress. She had previously worn them with a pair of white linen pants and they looked great.
Her eyes kinda make her look like Rakhi Sawant which is ike really bad…
Totally agree about the sandals, but I like Gauri’s outfit! She looks much better than usual.

but.. i agree maybe a different shoe would have set off the dress nicely. she looked soo skinny on the ramp.. but this dress is so unflattering on her… weird
its the fabric. would do that to anyone but the skinniest.
The dress looks sort of cheap doesn’t it? It’s too shiny and filmy but not in a nice way..you’re right, it would be nice to see it in better lighting, sometimes that makes all the difference.
But I think Gauri always looks pretty nice no matter what she’s wearing..I think it’s her face..but I wish she would do something about her hair!!
This looks borderline tacky on her. And it seems as if she put on 20 pounds since her appearance at Karan’s show :|

I think she has fab legs. But apart from that her figure is not very appealing. it shows in dresses that are much more fitted on the top and the waist. she should probably stick to shorter loose -fitting dresses. I like her hair here. and the makeup also is good (not loving the eye makeup though)..think she did not remove the makeup from the ramp..the makeup that looked fierce in the ramp is doing nothin here..then again..i think as u pointed the lighting maybe a factor
I was just wondering that most of the dresses in the posts before and after this one would suit her so much better…Like the metallic ones on Priyanka and Preity..or the short white numbers on Mehr or Katrina..I think she needs to move away from just picking up costly designer wear and start getting stuff that really compliments her figure.

i think she looks great….the dress is beautiful and suits her gorgeous tan. since this satin fabric is not very forgiving maybe spanx could have helped with the VPL and thats all that is wrong with this look
Gauri always looks very dated. And she really doesn’t know what works on her, which probably explains the number of fitted tops/dresses she wears.
3400usd is wayyyyyyy too much for that dress!! and i have started to notice gauris dresses are getting shorter,more cleavage at recent events? is it the age LOL? I like her hair. i think she is too dusky to carry off a color like tat. Her feet are not pretty,she shud stick to pumps!!

i loved her on the ramp but here not so much, maybe if she more different shoes it would have looked better.
The makeups awful.. :| It’s way too heavy.. and the nude lips don’t suit her much.

is it just me or the design or does the bust area look weird as well? i can’t help but picture Preity’s dress at Cannes – she fared so much better. Gauri needs to stop emulating Bollywood’s younger generation and follow in Karshima’s or Sridevi’s footsteps. hope she tones her whole wardrobe down and finds clothes that compliment her face, body and age
Maybe I am in minority, love the dress and the colour on her. Love her make up, incl the eye make up. The thongs on their own are great but not with this dress. Love the whole look.She looks fab and fresh.

Agree, she’s a mom with two kids, she’s not going to have the most flattering midsection…
BUT why you would emphasize that and demphasize those AWESOME LEGS is a mystery to me
I’m not a big Versace fan, and the dress on it’s own is tacky enough
pair it with those SHOESWHICHIHATE (being a southern Californian, I don’t understand why people continue to wear flip-flops when it completley undermine’s their outfit)…and it’s extra tacky
