In Arpita Mehta
Disha wore a peach Arpita Mehta lehenga with jewellery by Mrinalini Chandra to Ambani’s Ganesh Chaturthi festivities on Friday evening.
Besides the fact that the color didn’t seem to do much for her, I am also questioning the choice of outfit. A bustier top with a sheer dupatta to a Ganesh Puja event? If this was me, I can already hear my Mom screaming “Cover up, will ya!” :P

We know you are hot, Disha. But there is time and place for everything.
Yep…and we need to say this to the Arora sisters too.
Payal, you echoed my sentiments. Even though she toned down the look with the dupatta, a “bustier top” (let’s just call it what it is, a strapless bra) is highly inappropriate for a puja. I get that she’s starting out and needs to achieve a certain look to catch the eyes of casting directors/ producers but this is too OTT.
Not a good look. Color didn’t work for her. Makeup and selection of jewelry is not working. Also we know, that she knows she is a hot bod, she really doesn’t need to shout out loud about it. I mean this is pretty odd. It seems like a part of her brief to al her stylists that the outfit should be able to enhance her hot bod. Not needed.
Maybe I’m a minority here, but I don’t think her outfit is inappropriate for the occasion. (Now, please don’t pan me just yet.)
It’s not just a puja, it’s a celebration. And that too this happens to be an ultra high society celebration/soiree. Let’s not get our own practices intermixed into this and pass judgement.
Secondly, as far as outfit, I think the bodice looks nice on her, I think the print doesn’t really go well with the lehenga or the dupatta, imo. That’s my only issue with this look.
I would agree. It’s a huge event, so I don’t think this outfit would be particularly conspicuous, esp in Mumbai. If this were at a smaller celeb pooja, like the ones at the homes of the Dutts or Khans, it may look out of place. But I get the feeling that this was not just a pooja. I could be totally wrong, but still, given the size of the event, I would think it is a small drop in a large pond.
Well its you and neither its me,not liking it is one thing but why the minor slut shame of oh my mom would say this?wat r u insinuating that her mother doesnt care enough to stop her from wearing this perfectly albeit showy top which covers what needs to be covered and is covered with a sheermaterial to avoid the obvious in your face?
Exactly. Too many elements of the RSS women’s wing on here.
its hilarious, Jhanvi showed more skin but it was fine but here’s Disha who looks stunning and her outfit isn’t even event appropriate?
okayyyy
She looks so pretty.
In the West (which is the originator of all fashion trends that get eventually copied around the world including India), there is certainly an aspect of event-appropriateness to all dressing. In India these days, people seemed to have learnt a new word from the western media, so even if there is slight criticism of someone’s sartorial choices in terms of event-appropriateness, some folks seem to scream “slut-shaming!!” regardless of the validity of the criticism.
Am I the only one who wants to know what brand of maang tikka is she wearing? Looks interesting ! The outfit, though I really don’t care for.
