The whirlwind tour has started for Deepika who will be accompanying Akshay as they release their movie in seven cities. First up was Los Angeles which saw Deepika wearing a Manish Malhotra sari with a green velvet blouse.

The sari wasn’t so bad but that green velvet blouse! Its just so garish!

  2. Spot on. The blouse is quite garish.. yikes I would never wear that (and I have been known to wear some questionable things!) but this blouse..neverrr. She doesn’t look that great :S. Hope the other premieres fare better for her.

  3. It might not have looked so bad if she had worn the sari the “proper” way….i.e. covering up what needed covering! This drape just looks slutty!

  6. I dont know whether this will be posted or not..tried couple of times but..

I like the make up, the hair do and even the sari..I guess the issue is the cut of the blouse, Had it been just a simple yet trendy back knot blouse ,it would have complimented the entire attire!!

  7. I like her neck up. The blouse is horrible. The saree is pretty too. I think if she went with a simpler blouse and middle size nice earrings…she could have nailed it.

  8. Deepika’s outfit looks ugh….never thought I’d say this – she generally dresses so well. I love the blue cowlneck dress she wears in the pepsi ad

  9. Deepika looks stunning as always. Not too wild about the blowse (but it would have looked way worse on most other actresses) but the sari is nice.

She still manages to look elegant with the posture, smile and radiance.

  10. The sari is actually nice, but the color does not suit Deepika it makes her lookwashed out, it doesn’t suit her complexion and the blouse is just plain ugly!
Her hair I don’t like aswell just makes the loo even more ‘old’!

  11. What’s with Manish Malhotra’s recent fixture with satin?! It’s disgusting!

Don’t really like the sari. Too “chamak challo” for my liking. Deepika is too young to dress like that… this look doesn’t flatter her beauty.

  12. She looks nice… I think the blouse has pictured badly!… I have seen these clothes upfront and they do not look garish. .. However…pls let go of the bindi…

  13. Why do they make such blouses? I mean its like they make the saree to match with the blouse. The blouse has to be displayed at any cost – at the cost of grossly misinterpreting the beauty of the saree by letting it hang too loose. But I have to admit – Deepika’s face looks like porcelien to me – so sculpted and beautiful!!

  14. eeewwww what an ugly blouse!! the saari is beautiful. i like the top half of the blouse but that green velvet!! what’s going on Manish malhotra? ran out of material or what?

  15. i’m always amazed at how MM creations make desi clothes look so ugly..this is a clear example of how a blouse can make or break a saree…it’s really a pity that there are so many gorgeous sarees out there and she has to pick this one…

  16. she cud have done so much better.. why a white sari.. that also with that ugly blouse.. i wonder if the stylists go too crazy trying to decide.. i thought even akshay cud have looked dapper in a black tux with a bowtie or something.. true hollyhood premiere style…

  17. Her makeup is amazing – so natural – her sari so-so, her blouse the top half started out being so-so and then as he went lower- something happened to Manish! who am sure is sniggering all the way to the bank! And pray what happened to Deepika?! – would she have accepted this from an unknown designer – amazing what people accept from a connected designer!

  18. am i the only one who likes the green velvet???

the color is good, complements the skin and the saree but the design and bling on it is horrible!!! a strapless plain velvet blouse of the same shade or a slightly darker shade would look fabulous.

the hair makes her look like a school teacher, a cute one at that!

  19. i dont think its the green velvet, its the blingy work on the blouse which makes it very draupadi-ish!!! i think the green adds a dash of much needed contrast to the sari… and thazt shade IS good
    an almost perfect do…

  20. Oh where do I even start.. the saree color, velvet blouse, tied back hair does nothing for her. I would prefer a pair of simple drops to those ear studs on a saree anyday!!

  21. i think she looks lovely.. including the blouse.. bit of a color to the look…
dont like the way saree is draped.. same goes for tina..

  22. This girl sure gives me a splitting head ache …the look has been ruined by the hedious blouse and Deepika seems to be struck by ‘bindis’…something is wrong with the bindis she choses to wear.

  23. Why why why does the blouse has to show out of the pallu….I just cannot get myself to like this new Bollywood trend. If they want to show off their assets why not wear a more appropriate dress.
When wearing a saree, hide your blouse with the pallu…that is the whole purpose of a pallu.
To top it, the green blouse if just so off putting.
Maybe if she had only covered the blouse, it would have looked alright with a little green peeping through the cream translucence of the saree.

  24. Neck Up = Beautifull!! Rest is so Blehhh!! I dont know if it is her or someone else who picks out her outfit. If soo she needs to fire her stylist PRONTO!! One thing i hate the most is beautifull women in tacky clothes!..Such a crime!!

  25. The blouse is terrible. The only saving grace is her face ( :)) ) and I actually think the tied back hair works here… so good to not see the long extensions we see all the time…

  26. I kinda like the garish green in this case… it takes u away from the rather plain coloured sari. The sari though is nice much better than the NY premiere outfit posted ahead i believe.
