Sari Style
Alia threw us a curveball at the Zee Cine Awards where she was seen in a Madhurya sari complete with Jaipur Gems jhumkis and a bindi. We are used to seeing in more youthful looks so this look came as quite a surprise because it felt so mature. Not that I am complaining. She looked lovely.
Don’t miss the woven cat motif on her sari.

She looks lovely..love the cat motif too..it gives this classic look such a fun twist!
thats lovely :)
She looks so BEAUTIFUL! And such a breath of fresh air. I am sick of the elaborate gowns on the red carpet and crave for the days when Sridevi and Madhuri used to wear traditional sarees for the award shows.
ITA. Not that I don’t love the couture and gowns on the red carpet, but it would be so lovely to have at least a few saree sightings (traditional) on award nights.
She is 24,mature enough to wear a saree.
She looks gorgeous!
Yeah she is not a 15 year old.
Yeah, I do not understand how this is a matured look for her. This is a traditional Indian attire and she is 20+ and able to manage the lovely and stylish attire. She is looking so good.
Hair tied in a high ponytail with some quirky earrings would have provided youthfulness to the look. Traditional earrings are not going wel with cat motif saree. Not a fan of severe hair either!
She looks lovely! Wish she wears her bindi a bit higher.
She looks lovely.
She looks absolutely radiant & lovely ??. Nothing to fault here. Wish more of the younger generation wear Sarees too.
She took me by a surprise , in a good way.
Nothing to fault. She is carrying it so well. Good to see the younger stars wearing saris. Happy to see a traditional weave.
That is a lovely curveball… she looks beautiful. I am so glad she broke out of her pattern to wear a saree. I was just lamenting recently that the newer lot of heroines (mainly Alia and Pari) have never adorned a proper saree on the red carpet.
Why do u always complain abt Aliyah being mature
Do u expect her to come in a fairy looks with a magic wand all the time ?
She looked lovely.this isn’t mature at all. Many Indian women at their 20’s do wear this
She looks so pretty in this reminding me of how beautiful she looked in 2 states
She reminds me of the films fare awards of the old days. These features were shown just before the main movie began when I used to be a little girl; reminiscing Asha Parek, Vijayantimala, Sadhana et.al. Quite lovely.
lovely yes, award function no… it is nice for a day lunch or a promotion event. tryin too hard babe
You need to stop perpetuating this myth of saris looking mature. The sari, without exception, is a garment that all women can carry of and there is one suitable for every occasion possible. Alia looks perfect in the sari – the colour, the motif, the way its draped n accessorised are all spot on. Good job Ami!
Well said
Oh wow…how charming!
She looks lovely, I don’t feel it’s too mature.
However less severe hair and contemporary design earrings would’ve made for a more youthful look.
She looks fantastic!! Plus i am a sucker for anything cat-related, so this saree practically speaks to me :-D
Wowie! She looks gorgeous. The cat motif adds the youthfulness/freshness to the regular sari which her looks are known for. ;-)
You’re used to seeing her in more youthful looks? She’s been dressing like an old woman the entire promotions tour. I think this actually looks really young and fresh.
Thank God for the saree as it is the one garment that prevented her bharat natyam leg jutting out pose…she should wear it more often!
I was prepared to feel ‘meh’ about this until CATS – definitely on board now.
It’s only because of certain mindsets that has made a lot of people believe that saree is for “mature” women, many give behanji or auntyji tags to those who wear saree in their 20s, specially in case of traditional weaves, such a shame. She looks so lovely!!
