Kalyan Jewellers opened six retail stores in Dubai and in attendance for the big event were brand ambassadors Amitabh and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. Aishwarya opted for a velvet Sabyasachi long anarkali featuring gold sleeves and gold net dupatta.

Anarkali, velvet, long sleeves, same hair…such a snooze fest. She has access to all the top designers in our country, but she will choose the ugliest from their collection. Can someone tell me who was that joker who called her a fashion icon a few years back?

I guess I was just trying to imagine wearing velvet in those temperatures – given it looks like an outdoor event
Weather is pretty nippy now since it is supposed to be winter. Desert winters can get pretty cold. And even in Summer most of these places (shops, malls) keep the temp almost at a freezing level. SOo It really doesn’t matter for a Celeb to wear velvet or heavy set clothes. Strictly in terms of weather wise, I am referring to. :)
Sorry but 9 times out of 10 aishwariya manages to kill just about every look she wears. The hair, makeup, clothes everything seems stuck in a time warp with her. Shes still a young women she needs a freshen up.
Totally agree with you! She looks fabulous, but she needs to amp it up, A LOT!
Just on my way home I saw a poster of Kareena for Malabar jewellers. My instant reaction was how beautiful the jewellery is and how pretty Kareena looks in it.
But when I look at the way Kalyan jewellers is presenting aishwarya, the jewellery looks old and boring, and Aishwarya looks dated and ott.
