In Ridhi Mehra
At the pre-release event of her Telugu movie, Aditi was seen in a purple Ridhi Mehra skirt paired with a crisp white shirt and statement dangler from Satyani Fine Jewels.
The combo looked good but part of me wishes she hadn’t knotted up the shirt. But, that’s just me. Like it as is?
Gives the illusion of what women wear in Haryana, Rajasthan.. the traditional wear.
Love it as is
I agree, the knotted look gives a different vibe.
And for those of you who aren’t as old as I am – it was Dimple in Bobby who brought the knotted shirt fashion to India. It was even called the Bobby Shirt. Followed closely by Amitabh in Deewar
I had no idea! Thanks for this.
OT, but I wish there was a Bollywood nostalgia blog or series (with true stories about the whole industry, not just KJo-style kitsch self-aggrandizement). When Sridevi passed away, people retold/posted all sorts of cool stories and gossip from the 80s and 90s and I realized I don’t know half these histories or half this trivia.
RetroBollywood on Instagram is a good one to follow.
Try Bolly Book – the Big Book of Hindi Movie Trivia by Diptakriti Chaudhury. I haven’t read it myself but heard good things about it.
@Chevalier – that might be fun, no? Before the designer craze caught on, there were many trends started by movie stars. Sadhana popularized bangs. Parveen Babi’s hair was copied for years. Amitabh had this weird blouson that he made very popular. Rekha’s outfits in Silsila were copied by every darzee. And I personally loved her Puneri sarees with matching blouses in Vijeta – I recall cutting up one saree’s border from the inner bitand attaching a fall to tuck it in, so I could get a border on my blouse like her.
She has the face of an angel. Agree with you on the shirt.
Lovely face, and love the knotted shirt. It looks fresh for the summer and she carries it well
beautiful girl with terrible makeup
She’s so pretty!!!
Loved the look … I infact loved the knotttt it’s a blend of modern and traditional also bonus points to her for working every bit of it
Love the knotted take of the shirt. A couple of inches short on the skirt and a smaller earring and I’d say the look was perfect.
She is so pretty and wears the look well.
