IIJW 2012: Amrapali
Walking the ramp for Amrapali were Abhay Deol and Nargis Fakhri with her and the model wearing Raakesh Agarvwal embellished gowns.
Do you think the gowns take away from the jewellery?

Really bad styling…The overload is talking away from the beautiful jewellery. The golden gown was not the best choice to showcase those emeralds.
yes they do, you’re right. abhay looks a little weird. Don’t know if its the hair or that piece of jewelry.
Some exquisite jewelry. Somehow Nargis is the wrong person for them, the pieces look awkward on her. Mr. Deol however, dashing!
Nargis is worse than the models…and that’s saying something seeing as how she was always a better model than an actress. Don’t like the look on her she just seems odd. Pieces do look awkward on her. The clothes completely take away from the pieces which are in fact STUNNING. I’d love to own one of them (lust list)
The clothes really lend to the jewelry. One of the few shows where the models don’t merely look like jewelry mannequins draped in plain cloth. The whole look was put together so well with the full on OTT jewels! Loved it
Even with that strange presentation Abhay looks d-e-l-i-c-i-o-u-s.
I think the choice of gowns really makes the jewelry stand out.. the jewelry itself could look OTT if it wasnt put together sensibly.. definitely styled well..! Abhay carries it off with such envious ease..sigh!*
Amrapali jewels can never go wrong! Loving the goddess-y vibe of the show and multiple pieces of jewelry layered – almost like a fashion editorial in motion
Disagree with those who hate the styling. Love the combination of the clothes and jewellery. Adds Drama! My fave is the blue look. And Nargis is emeralds, beautifullllllll.
Disagree with those who hate the styling – love love love the combination of the clothes and jewellery. The blue look is one of my favourites, as is Nargis is emeralds. Beautiiiifulllll.
Considering I still see Sonam in my mind’s eye from last year’s show, Nargis doesn’t make any impact.
