Not sure if I’m right, but the beige sari closely resembles the one Priyanka Chopra is sporting in a song in Dostana. The promos have just started airing on tv.
@nlr: PC’s sari in that song looks to be a lot different from memory. but the visuals move too quick for me to focus anyways lol
i like the orange duppatta one and the first one is interesting. but the way the beige sari is draped, looks a bit off and i hate shiny blouses anyways. lol
@ nlr.. that is not the same saree as PCs.. hers is more golden brown and i think its plain..plus the blouse is different..its the same shade as the saree..
she has done this kind of similar collection forthe middle east…the orange and green is the Jodha inspired outfit, down to the ghungat being filimi and covering the models face.
i have wrked with her n i not only love her wrk but shes n awesome human being tooo

That\s great that you’ve worked with her and she’s an awesome person congratulations.. No one ever said anything about her personally they’re just commenting on her work. Also no one said that they thought that the bikini tops were for real life, pdaervo just said that she didn’t like the tops. It’s not like anyone said “what bride is going to wear that in real life” or anything similar to that.
I have worked with her and interviewed her as well, and I think she is overrated as a designer…lucky for her Ash happened her way…or else she would have disappeared in the firmament in India…
Stylishstylst – No one needs to ‘learn’ fashion to say they dont like bikini blouses. Also, these clothes are not for a bride anyways. They are just more sangeet/cocktail outfits for relatives or simply part of the bridal trousseau. So why cant someone where a bikini blouse if they wish to? Also, she may be an awesome person but her clothes scream ‘nonsense’. There is no thought process, imagination, theme or inspiration They dont even look like they’re part of the same collection. They could have just as well been one outfit contributed by each of us on the blog, thats how fragmented they look. So please, get a sense of fashion for yourself before commenting on others.
i agree.. we are not trying to bring her down.. we are just being critical about the work- and thats not to be taken personally in anyway..hey, we all have an opinion, and this site is about voicing it.
i think she is an overrated designer too. i have never liked any of her clothes seen on the runway recently. they completely lack imagination and creativity. she might be a good human being but that doesnt mean she’s a good designer. if she didnt have a muse in ash, she would have been long gone.

But the bikini blouses …even if they were made for the runway, i still would like to see some creativity. In the 1st pic i don’t know what are those but look like tights .. the kurti however looks nice. The final outfit is nice as well but you know u have seen it before.
this collection is an improvement to the stuff she normally comes out with so at least it’s a step in the right direction. i like that most of it is not blingy.
Like the orange and blue ghagra, but only because it reminds me of Ash in HDDCS. That’s the movie after which Neeta pretty much died for me. (Imho, even Devdas’ costumes were aight…nothing like HDDCS)
@ Adit, agree with you a 100%. Also, lucky for you too that you’re probably not working with her anymore. What is there to learn from Neeta Lulla? Except perhaps how to win friends and influence people….but that you might as well learn from Dale Carnegie.
I think the first number was also done in gold which Ash wore with the Kohlapuri wedges on the cover of some magazine where she posed with Abhishek. No?
tell the celebs that the bikini choli is meant for the runways.. they sure do end up everywhere wearing those.. with equally disasterous results.. the rest of the clothes are strictly okay!
None of the outfits really interest me, even the stuff she makes in the movies for Ash are not anything great. The only reason why some of it looked good is because ash looked beautiful always, in whatever she wore in thosedays.
Afterall, wasn’t neeta lulla responsible for ash’s clothes in the cannes debacle.
