In Jade

Janhvi, who has been on a whirlwind promo-tour, picked Jade separates for a recent outing of hers. With her hair in a braided updo, she rounded out the look with chandelier earrings and pair of neutral sandals.

Sweet as she looked neck-up, not a fan of that outfit; it just looked so dated.

  1. I loved her makeup and hairstyles all throughout her promotions but the outfits have been so dated. Was expecting more from her.

    • Must admit reading these comments on Janvi’s posts makes me oscillate between amusement and just plain disgust from time to time. There is so much outpouring of concern for this woman who is already coming in with so much privilege (famous parents, dream debut, prepped for interviews, already has a fully functional PR/stylist team). It is quite telling when she fails to shine in spite of all perks of being a star-kid working in her favor, and the failure is attributed to the stylist. But looking back at the nasty comments that other (non-priviledged) actors get on these pages, why is it that their “failures” are always their cross to bear and not their stylists’?

      • Sadly those non privileged artists don’t have a PR marchinery that disguises itself as commentators here and on social media. It’s pretty transparent though, they can’t fool everyone!

She has a seasoned team of advisors , designers, stylist, PR people , her producer, family and many others helping her at every step. Maybe the expectations are more from her and sadly, regardless of who is responsible for her looks, each one has been a let down. She doesnt even look like herself and seems very uncomfortable most of the time. I do understand and sympathise with her because of the tragedy in her life and kudos to her for moving on. But she was used to the cameras trained on her from a young age and she chose tto be in the limelight. So some of the criticism comes with the territory. I don’t think she is getting more than her fair share of hate. On the contrary, thanks to the exposure she became an instant celebrity even before proving herself.

Perhaps Jhanvi’s stylist is just blindly aping that trend, and if this had been a seasoned startled we would have accepted these looks with no qualms, but since Dhadak is less of a movie and a more of a pure ‘launch pad’ for members of filmy dynasties, we expected to be completely stunned by Jhanvi’s dazzling brilliance the first time she graced us mere non-filmy mortals with a promo-tour!!

          • “Janhvi’s dazzling brilliance”?……..what are you talking? Me and my friends are 1000 times more prettier than her. Wake up and go see the girl’s schools and women’s colleges all across India…… you will see the prettiest girls.

            • I think you missed the sarcasm in my reply! The last part was meant to be a critique of our celebrity worshipping nature in this country. I have nothing against Jhanvi personally, she seems to be a lovely girl who conducts herself with utmost grace, however I do agree that she is VERY average looking and judging by the reviews a VERY average actor too, so the fact that everyone already is treating her like a demi-goddess and holding her to ridiculously high fashion standards is a sad reflection of our celeb obsessed country where merely having the right surname means you have fame and stardom simply handed to you on a platter

              • Oh ok. But I didn’t have any expectations. The current trend is people are crazy for talented, non filmy background new comers. Bollywood is still lagging behind with taking in so many star kids. Plus over exposure, over styling, over promoting and too much PR is Janhvi’s drawback.

  2. I know all her sightings have been monotonous lately, mid riff showing and ethnic but she is kind of growing onto me now. I like her this attire, soft pink color and make up. What is dated in the look? Does not fashion cycle back after couple years and these celebs are like trend setters or influencers bring fashion back to us.

    • Sure, trends come and go…but at present her style is dated because this kind of dressing isn’t trendy right now (in 2018)…and tbh this isn’t a trend I’d want to bring back anyway. And more than anything else, I just feel none of her looks look designer or quality which is the biggest let down. On her even a Prabal Gurung dress looks mediocre – and that’s not because it’s her wearing it, but because of the styling.

      • i have read most o f the reviews ,no where it says she has no personality, she seems like a very likeable and pretty girl on and off screen ,to me spiteful comments only indicates insecurity and jealousy,

  3. Jaded is a better word for Jahnvi’s styling for this movie’s promotions. There’s just no spark, nothing fresh in these looks. Stylist is just churning out one boring look after the other, don’t they see it’s not working?

  4. I feel like her stylist has been trying to go the Alia way with her (Badri and Raazi promotions) but not the same thing works for everyone, and also Alia’s looks are always supplemented with nice hair, makeup, jewelry and shoes. The outfit alone won’t make the look work.
