In Sabyasachi
Another day and it was another Sabyasachi for Ms. Padukone who wore an green sharara while attending promotions for Padmaavat at a local eatery.
Considering I have loved this sharara ever since I first saw it showcased on the designer’s profile, I may be a bit biased here in loving this look instantly.

Love the color on her. Her face looks gorgeous but the Sharara itself looks so dated. I don’t know if it’s the sleeves or the embroidery.
It’s the length and stiffness of the top.. doesn’t flow with the sharara. Comes across as kurta on patiala
Agree ….. looks dated . Nothing great … pretty meh
Sabya and miss Padukone along with wing eyeliner are a heavenly combination
Love it. She looks beautiful, happy and glowing. The sharara has a certain old world charm to it.
Perfectly worn.. beautiful color and earrings
Well that makeup needed a brighter lip
I know the looks for the promotions for this movie have to be conservative, but the looks are edging on matronly now.
Why exactly this or any of the regular Indian looks she has worn, matronly? Wherever you live or whatever you do, i think you and many in the industry lack understanding of the general Indian outside the 10% urban population. These work for most of the country, call us ‘middle class’, ganwar or whatever…industry needs to dial down a bit to their level to sell. Either focus on NRI or just get a little gist of the 90% india that pays for your tickets.
huh? are you misplaced?
whats with the NRI / Urban indian bashing? Dont bollywood movies have to sell in these markets either?!
Agree with misty – the whole look (with the dated embroidery and dull makeup) looks decidedly matronly. You can of course disagree (thats what this blog is about!) but a little less attacking post would really . Unless the chip on your shoulder is really that pronounced?
The color suits her so much and she is glowing.
I hate the color on her … too full
Felt the same, plus it looks gharara to me given the joint at thigh area!
She looks absolutely gorgeous. Love the fact that she’s kept her make up subtle wearing a deep color and richly embroidered outfit.
Beautiful! Could you also ID the Kashmiri looking dress she wore on yaar mera superstar? She wore it with exquisite silver jhumkis
Glorified nightwear with an exorbitant price tag. What a pathetic excuse for “designer wear”.
^^^Was meant for the other Deepika- Sabya post.
I’m reminded of Leena Chandravarkar from Mehboob ki Mehndi, and not in a good way.
She looks pretty. But the pattern, work all look so dated. Sabya gets away with such mediocre outdated stuff.
This is all too much in my opinion. I don’t think the sharara is in any way outstanding. Seen versions of this a gazillion times.
