Wearing Her Own

Fashion Week means a hall pass for anyone who wants to experiment with personal style, however outlandish it may be. And we love that!

While taking in one of the shows during FW, designer Anupama Dayal paired a sari over a tank and white shorts. Funky but looks très uncomfortable.

At the post WLIFW party, it was a hot pink maxi for her that she paired with a neon yellow necklace. Now that one, we love!

  1. Saree with Tank top, passable. But with shorts!!??!!??!?! Call me a purists but I like my sarees the old fashioned way, however funky they might be!

  2. Irritated with the way she is wearing her sari, especially when there are so many options to drape one. Although the sari itself is rather nice. And, I do like the pink dress. Such a fun color.

  4. I like it! It’s fun and irreverent. The green footwear needs to go, though. It’s really ugly.

And what’s with all the comments about ‘blasphemy’ or ‘insulting sarees’? It’s a garment, people, lighten up – you can say it’s done tastefully or done unaesthetically, but please don’t equate sarees with holy/religious/nationalistic sentiments!
