In Alice + Olivia

Keeping it simple in a red Alice + Olivia dress was Riddhima on day two of WLIFW. She looked great, almost reminding me of Karisma, but I have one minor gripe. Mixing the silver python clutch (Zagliani) with gold snakeskin pumps didn’t work in my book.

Sari Style

Cosmo editor Nandini was spotted taking in shows on Day two wearing a blue sari by Abraham & Thakore. I like the collared mesh blouse that she paired the sari with but am not on board with those sandals. Sure, the look required some edgy sandals to go with it but its just that am not a big fan of such spider-ey sandals.

WLIFW Spring 2013: Manish Malhotra

Why fix what ain’t broken? Manish Malhotra knows exactly who his customer is and what works. And towards that end, he delivers every single time.

Aside from his usual color palette of ivory, pink and coral, olive was used in abundance. It’s not a color we see too much of on the runway and made for a change. Loved it especially against the deep-purple/navy (Row Three, Centre). It was business as usual with the silhouettes, though there were some new ones snuck in now and then (Row One, Centre).

The star really was the exquisite chikan work. Love. And, in lust with that navy and red chikan lehenga (Row Three, Extreme Left).

WLIFW Spring 2013: Am:Pm

Am not sure what I want more, to see some of these looks worn off the runway or have them magically make their way in to my closet. Ankur & Priyanka Modi’s collection definitely stood out! Loved the graphic color palette and the use of print. Drawing inspiration from Mesoamérica, the use of iconography sure was well done.
