Both Zayed and Malaika wore Manav Gangwani creations on day two of IIFA 2009. As much as I love the color on Malaika, I can’t bring myself to like the sari one bit. Am just a lil’ old-fashioned wherein I prefer my blouse to be the detailed piece and my sari to have a proper pallu! :P

I love it and might I say that I am not agreeing with you pnp lately…. I cant fault her look and this saree goes well as an evening wear …very understated and feminine.
zayed looks smashing, his wife always looks kind of off. they make an unlikely pair. the saree is awful, color is lovely but that is it.

While I like my sari traditional, Malaika carries it off well. The colour suits her. But this Manav dude seriously needs to apprentice under some “readl” designers since his outfits, aside from being OTT, are just plan ugly.
Although I usually never agree with wearing the Saree this way, she looks really good. Maybe because her blouse covers up well, it doesn’t look cheap.
Agree totally with you, a saree is a classic, dont mess it up dude….it reminds of Zandra Rhodes trying to reinvent the saree…..did not go down well

For once this isn’t a wthey and I’m glad for that.. The colour suits her and she looks nice in it. This works on her.
tho i m not a fan of draping sari in any other but traditional way , she doesn’t look that bad..it works somehow
I don’t like it one bit either. I think it adds weight to her, while a traditionally wrapped saree and a…sleeved blouse would have created a graceful line.
