WLIFW: Kavita Bhartia

Who would have thought this was a Fall collection looking at the explosion of color? A departure from the usual somber hues of Fall were indeed a welcome sight at Kavita Bhartia’s collection!

She married the eastern aesthetic and western design with elan and the collection comprised of many separates, some of which were just plain delightful! The silhouettes were fluid and the embellishments not too overdone.

There were those empire line tunics (which we love), scarves, layering and those really fun/funky tights. While I saw Proenza do neon tights for Fall, these take it a step further!

Definitely a collection with heavy gypsy-desi-bohemian influences, and not a collection for the shrinking violets among us for sure.

  1. Visually very pleasing, obviously the jewels were there to create a statement, but in some instances they have overpowered the outfit, a case of over – styling.

but must have looked great on the ramp

  2. Terrible collection; she threw everything but the kitchen sink. The eye had nothing to focus on; everything was a riot of colors, textures, accessories. Too too too much.

  3. The texture and detail making an internal design makes the blue pencil skirt interesting. I love the combination of mustard yellow, gold, red and black, the silhouette reminds me of Kashmir, and the loving the tights. I also like the torquise blue dress with gold detail minus the gold string on the neckline and gold hem.
The hair styling is a minus point, and the jewelleries were more than enough to doubt whether it was a fashion runaway for garments or jewelleries.
