Summertime: A ‘Not Quite’ Edition

Two separate Film Festivals saw these two ladies make an appearance in pastel, summery and casual Indian ensembles… However, it’s not the best we’ve seen them do.

Between the two ladies, I have to go with Tanisha because she just seems to have the better outfit. As far as accessories go, am sure she could use some help though. A clutch instead of that awkward teeny bag and perhaps less chunkier sandals and we’d have had a whole different story on our hands.

    • These kinds of comments leave me wondering what the screening process for comments is. Clearly this comment is not about fashion or the likes, and is just plain insulting. What exactly makes them “behenjis” .. is it their outfits or their styling or what? I just don’t understand the use of this term I guess. Pardon me.

      • I COMPLETELY agree with Green Chilli..would this comment have been posted if some thing derogatory had been said about race, class, religion etc? then why do we allow this “behenji” term which is both ageist and classist pass by without a single glance? It is not just derogatory towards these 2 women in particular, but against all South Asian women who are told they are not “modern” or “hep” or “cool” enough and i find it extremely offensive and problematic, just like I would if someone commented on another persons skin color, religion, etc…

That being said, I like the fact that both ladies really look relaxed and happy and I think Tanisha’s shalwar kameez is elegant.

      • i agree with ‘green chilli’. i don’t understand why p and p let these sorts of insulting, immature and childish comments on this site. just bcos someone wears an indian outfit does not make them a behenji. it’s degrading to women to categorize them in this way.

      • some of the most powerful women in the world wear indian clothes on a daily basis, such as chanda kochar, sonia gandhi, indra nooyi and they can’t be called behenji types. it’s insulting to all south asians to say that if we wear our own clothes, then that means we are simple and provincial.

    • According to you for a person to be well dressed she had to bee in a short tight dress.
I personally love variety and people who always change it up.

      This comment is very insulting.

  1. I prefer Vidyas dress ,accessories face makeup and smile.
Dress-color looks good on her but Tanisha looks so dull.
But i do like tanishas handbag :-)

  2. p&p I have a question for you.
What size handbag do you think someone 5′ 3″ 100 lb should carry?
Am really petite and having a hard time finding the right bag.
