In Gaurang

Wearing a Gaurang sari, Vidya attended the designer, Gaurang Shah’s exhibition in Mumbai. With her hair pulled back in a low knot, she finished out the look with flowers in her hair, stack of bangles on one hand and a pair of gold jhumkis. Lovely as she looked neck up, can’t say I was a fan of the sari itself.

  1. Do you continue to feature vidya as a battle of wills ?
Let’s see who tires first ? Is it gonna be vidya who refuses to heed any fashion advice and stick with this outdated and boring style (for lack of a better word ), arm crook and poorly draped pallu in tow or will it be HHC who will finally accept that any hint of a makeover or refreshment is out the question and in all likelihood remain in the same rut forever.

  2. The brown on the sari looks velvety. I like this look. She is spruced yet looks so simple here. I like the fact that unlike other women who go the glamorous route with saree, she keeps it simple and charming.

    • Even I like this look on her even though the severe hair, multiple bindis and huge jhumkis are aging her than what she is. I like those kadas very much (if only they are gold). I don’t know if the kadas are her own or some jewelry shop lend her for marketing.

  4. She is beautiful and looks gorgeous here in her signature style. She is an terrific actress, I know it is the world of glamour n glitz but art, craft and creativity etc are indispensable part of that world of show-business as well. I come to this site for fashion too but an actress of her calibre does not need to accommodate our notion of fashion. It is exhausting to see her get so much criticism for her body, posture, outfit etc incessantly. It is my humble opinion that there are women and men who are so amazingly talented and graceful that you totally forget what they wear. Vidya is one of them.

  5. I don’t find her dressing too different from Noandita Das or Konkona Sen.
She dresses how she normally would, the non “movie star” version of herself, which I find refreshingly honest. Sure, not all the posts might be fashion blog worthy, but there’s just a little too much viciousness directed at her for not conforming, which I think is sad.

  6. This woman and her lame shabby dressing is here to stay. Too bad I belong to the place she hails from and not one person I have seen any place in my hometown or elsewhere badly dressed up in a sari like this. All this blah blah about acting, to be honest her acting is just about average. There are many women in South movies who are extremely talented and wears their sarees and set mundus well unlike some of ’em clowns.
