Wearing a purple sari by Gaurav Gupta, Vidya Balan graces the cover of the Nov 2009 edition of Good Housekeeping. We thought she looked quite nice on it. You?

    • No, she’s trying to smile with arched-eyebrows, by lifting one and letting the other remain grounded!!
Aishwarya Rai too smiles with arched eyebrows. But her eyebrows are naturally shaped like that, whereas Vidya has symmetrical eyebrows, hence the weird smile effect, which is looking pompous and annoying on her!

  1. REALLY? That hair is a disgusting mess. Is that even real hair, looks like a toupe. Save the color i hate the design and hate it even more on VB.

  2. Her face’s been so tampered with..it looks strange. One thing she’s got is a pretty face and it doesn’t really come through here. And the hair’s not great either. But whatever, looks decent enough.

  3. Huh, nice? It doesn’t even look like her. Seems like they aged her 20 years to match the title (as if younger women can’t represent good housekeeping well????). Nice colour, but thats it.

  6. The pose looked awkward,as if she is sitting uncomfortably on a bar stool.Would have loved to see her stand or atleast sit on a sofa.

    Love her face though.

  7. OMG – easy on the comments please.
The color is the only thing working here. Agree with the others on the hair. Methinks Shilpa Shetty would have beautifully pulled this off.

  8. I agree there’s something odd about this picture. She looks unnatural and awkward and almost un Earth like. The colour looks great on her but I’m not liking this at all.. she’s MUCH prettier than this cover lets on… her hair definitely doesn’t look real, they must have retouched it and made it toooo shiny.

  9. color’s real pretty. that’s the only nice thing about the picture. hair needs to be worked on … it does NOT go with the high-neck blouse. either that or she should’ve worn the same blouse as the model in red sari. also, vidya looks miserably uncomfortable. pity that she’s such a pretty girl but it rarely comes across in photo shoots.

  10. Hair and makeup are terrible, pose and angle of shot very unflattering, sari is nothing special (though the color is nice). She looks really bad…and she’s really not bad-looking. :(

  12. i love the blouse.. looked better in sheer natural color though .. even the pleating on the red saaree is beautiful,, gaurav gupta makes beautiful saarees ,, although vidya looks nice but i think a better pose would have helped..
