Sari Style
For an appearance at a recent event, Vidya paired her red-orange woven sari with a Sabyasachi blouse. Wearing her hair centre-parted and in a knot, Vidya finished out the look with Amrapali earrings, beaded bracelet and a pair of glasses. This one’s a ‘Not Quite‘ for me… As much as the color works on her, the look itself was way too severe for the actor.
More inside.

Severe or not, she looks lovely!
what are you talking about.. she looks lovely. i guess she is back with sabya
She looks good.
this is probably the nicest she has looked in recent times. Clean, and beautiful. She looks her her old self – the one that is comfortable in what she wears.
she looks adorable. come on P and P.
Absolutely adorable!
I’m just happy to see her back in her comfort zone. She looks super warm and approachable here!
Geek Hottie ,Super !!! High heel confidential you need a sensibilities shift!. You sound more and more annoying and predictable nowadays.
+ 100!
+1.
So predictable that you guys go gaga/ stay neutral for Sonam,Neha, Natasha Poonawala and Freida and stay neutral/ diss Ash,Priyanka and Vidya.
me Agree.. +100
Hey thats unfair…opinions are opinions!
Why would they do that? This is a personal blog. P n P can writw whatever they feel like. I really dont understand comments like yours.
If you disagree, then unfollow their blog! Stop telling them what to write about whom.
So true. And it gets funnier when some threaten to not comment/not visit the blog anymore. As if. :P
She looks way better here than when she wears her hair so long & heavy and covering her face.
She looks gorgeous!
What has happened to you P&P? She looks lovely! Glasses suit her, looks a bit geeky but very beautiful indeed. Nobody can donindian better than her!
She looks pretty good actually.
Super Indian.. Super geeky… Super intelligent … Super pretty…
The glasses and bun do nothing for her !
She looks really good and on trend: Indian geek chic. If this was a certain self-proclaimed icon, you would have NOT termed the look a ‘not quite’.
She looks lovely.
Infact, contrary to looking severe, she looks awesomely warm and someone whom you can share a smile with.
This is the best she has looked in a long long long time.
LOL!!Those glasses reminds me of her “hum paanch” days!! Nonetheless, she’s looking lovely here.
I think she looks lovely no matter what.So much better than those shirt dresses or anarkali maxis that were her staple for a while.
She looks amazing, I don’t know why u guys are so biased
She looks cheekily chic. Love it!
I meant geekily
Did she forget to remove the price tag from her sari. What is the white thing in the bottom of her saree? One of her better aunty looks.
No, that is not a tag. It’s light that passed though the cotton fabric and so it looks as such. For a person who can’t even realize this, you shouldn’t be allowed to call her “aunty”.
I checked on other sites. It IS a tag and it was removed I guess later on. Maybe some glasses are needed along with a chill pill. :D
Everytime there’s a snarky, name-calling comment I check the name and it always is “Adara”. “Aunty” seems to be one of your favorite accusations. God, you are so predictable. LOL
Aw. Ty!
Not when it is the actresses she styles..then you will see multiple comments praising the wearer:) Probably wishes Vidya would hire her.
More than Aunty she has a serious size fixation. Would have got her banned at GFY.
AM, they will never feature Vidya ever on GFY. We’ll see about it when she is featured and I get to comment. :P
Mia, YAWN! This constant thing about being a good actress has run its course. She is featured here on HHC for her “fashion” choices which obviously includes clothes.
LOL Adara! Looks like you’re quite the popular one on HHC.
Ikr. Not sure how to handle this popularity. Ha ha. And they have now claimed me as some stylist. Good joke of the year. I should probably abandon my business school and probably live in India. But I don’t think Samantha or anyone can afford me though. :P
I am so glad that some actors dress their age and not constantly make unsuccessful attempts at looking like 20 ( read malaika).
I think we should respect the differences in fashion and not expect to everyone to dress the same .
+1
I am amazed at how she totally make the saree, jhumka, low bun work with the geeky glasses. Love !
So it seems she has not got over her Sabya hang over and wants to return to the fold of what became her signature style and worked for her !!
excuse me PnP? why was my comment not put?!
We have rules regarding how readers interact with each other and yours violated that. You can check our About page to get more info regarding the rules.
Ladies, the comments on this thread have gotten out of hand. Time to play nice!
Whoa my comment was there and then not.
The comment was in fact to say if you have something to say, say it nicely! I just find it odd that mean comments get through but if a commenter complains they get censored. It’s not that difficult to criticise a look without making personal comments about the wearer and that should be your guidelines.
Agreed. But we had to moderate since the comments based off of yours were getting really out of hand.
P.S: We are doing the best we can with moderation. It’s hard to keep everyone happy but at some point, we just have to use our discretion. Thank-you for being a reader of the blog and we hope to see more comments from you! :)
It’s cool PnP!
I get a bit confused now and then. For a reader who enjoys your take which is always to the point, neutral and never personal, the comments can be a bit of a bitter aftertaste:)
PnP im sorry i disagree, there was nothing mean about my second comment. And i wholeheartedly agree with AM that snarky comments are allowed, but we can’t say anything in retaliation. anyway its your call, will try to be nicer next time :)
Same ol’ same ol’. Addition were the glasses. If the reason she has been featured is because of her “acting” skills . I would like to suggest many other actors from South who wears saris /desi clothes and keep it simple, casual and elegant. Like Suhasini, Revathi, Saranaya…all national award and state award winning actresses(in case awards was the criteria). Agreed they don’t sport Sabyasachis but still they wear the non designer ones far better than this lady can ever without making it look dowdy/clumsy. I am sure lot of people would agree with me in featuring those artists.
