Newly engaged couple, Urvashi and Sachin celebrated their wedding with a reception in Mumbai tonight. While Urvashi wore a white Manish Malhotra lehenga, the groom picked a maroon sherwani for the do. Our best wishes to the couple.

Sachin looks every inch a Guthka baron in his maroon sherwani. Urvashi looks ravishing and one can only hope she will groom her groom ASAP.

I am a traditionalist in this repsect – dont like white on a hindu bride. Cream, light pinks are fine. But not pure real white.

In traditional Andhra weddings (and I’ve seen it in other South Indian weddings but am not sure of the details), the bride always wears white, usually a white Kanjeevaram with a red border.
That’s not the model this bride is following but I wanted to mention that white is very much a color for Hindu brides.
