In Laila Motwane
Aptly keeping hubby Akshay’s movie in mind, Twinkle Khanna wore a blue sari by Laila Motwane. I wonder if she doesn’t wear saris much because she doesn’t know how to tie them well or because she is out of practice, but one thing is for sure, the lady knows what colors suit her best. Any other color might have made the bad draping stand out but the blue looks so refreshing. You like?

Pretty pretty pretty pretty sari :) So fresh
My grandma is the only one in my family who knows how to properly drape a sari (sad, I know- I had to learn about style from the INTERNET, thanks unfashionable mom)
…I have to ask her to teach me when she comes to America again
dont feel bad! i have the same problem! my mom came to america in 1981 and doesnt remember how to drape a sari so had to learn from the internet, too!
Haha, my mom came in 1991 -_- She has the worst memory
but now I feel less alone, so thanks ;)
Hey ladies…help me out: which internet site did you find most useful ? PnP doesn’t allow links, so could you please let me the name of the site.
I have the same problem, and haven’t found the right website yet.
Oh ! I love the saree..
I want one … No I need one ….
Now ………………….
what would you call that shade of blue? aqua? pale turquoise?i love it..
I’d say baby blue. Pastel shades. Aqua is somewhat brighter.
her face looks lovely
Ooohh….lovely saree. Great hair and make-up too. And I love that she’s wearing a normal blouse and has drawn her saree properly across her chest. Nice non-blingy, non-filmy saree even if poorly draped.
yes! also, the colors of the blouse/saree plus how she’s looking so relaxed makes it “picture perfect” for me!
No. Do not like because I can’t get over how poorly draped the sari is….
love love love absolute love…. both the saree and her :D its easy to ignore the slight poor draping because kudos to her for not doing the ‘one boob expose’ thingy!! I am also soooooooo glad she didn’t do a manish malhotra like every other b-town actresses. Seriously I am just tired of mm saree weraing actresses. This saree is a masterpiece and she did full justice.. like someone here said so ‘not filmy and not blingy’
Just wondering …..
So , If you believe in “Glass half full” then should you say “One boob covered” instead of “One boob expose”
Hmmmmmmmmmmmm
(Just kidding ……….)
@Asli Koel : ROFL! :)
Love the color and the sari! Such a fresh color and change from All Manish Malhotras velvety stuff
Minus the draping she gets brownie points for the nice color and above all wearing a sari like it’s meant to be worn-to cover the body. None of that teeny-tiny blouse with sari half falling off business. Thanks Twinkle-nice to see someone who actually uses the sari to cover themselves.
She looks so nice, she seems like one of the only ‘normal’ a.k.a. well dressed woman in B-town..always manages to match things well, chose appropriate clothing and complimentary colors (notice how these are all things we learn in kindergarten?)
Lol yes.
And she does it well, she has aesthetic. On top of which, despite dressing well, and I’m sure she know’s it, she doesn’t convey arrogance, over-confidence through her posture or facial expression… As if she knows it all… She could sit Kareena, Deepika, Sonam and Katrina down and give them some much needed lessons.
this woman floors with her sense of style every single time she steps out! class personified!! i loooooooooove her sari, the covered draping, the normal blouse…love love love
Ypu, i totally agree with you. That mane, she has definitely got that from her mom, along with the sense of style :)
I don’t care for the sari, I find it kind of tacky but the colour does look good on her. She has this effortless style thing going for her and looks better now than she did when she was in the movies!
I quite like her “old-fashioned” blouse with the long sleeves :)
Now that’s what I call classic and timeless…. she looks FAB… love the sari and even the careless draping.
So refreshing wish I could see the work on the sari more closely it looks so delicate and pretty.
Full marks Twinkle way to go girl.
WOW…I mean yeah the draping is bad but atleast she did full justice to the sari. It’s nice to see the sari worn like it’s suppose to.
Let’s hope these other actresses can learn a thing or two from twinkle.
LOVE IT!!!!
Effortlessly SEXY!!! LOVE IT!!!
Lovely saree,understated elegance,soft colour.Nothing loud.
Wish more B town women dressed like this!
It’s about time we saw a sleeve! Yay! I think the hair is mussy, but she looks lovely! Love the colour, it makes you feel cheery!
i’ll only say yes to the sari color.. otherwise.. the blouse is no-no, the draping is terrible, and the hair – i’m not even going there!
Finally.. a post that echoes my scentiments! (@ pri)
she looks fab…
I dont wear sarees at all, so whats actually wrong with the draping? I dont see anything weird.
It should be pleated a bit more properly at the bottom and also the way she has draped it looks like she has just thrown it around and over her shoulder very lazily. Not properly draped over her shoulder and it should be fitted a bit more by pulling it a bit more tightly over her shoulder. Still love the color and would take it any day over the tacky falling off saris with their non-existent blouses.
also, looks like it is about to fall off. look at her posture, looks like she wants to keep her hands close to her body to hold the sari up…
I was there at MEIFF Blue screening… saw her in person (from a distance of course).
Honestly, she didn’t look that good. The sari colour was so-so, and she looked tired and a bit washed out.
Hey!!! how come Amrita gets ripped all the time for good dress and bad hair and Twinkle doesnt??
She sports bad hair everytime she wears saree and she cant drape it right either!!
Not fair!! Not fair!!!
I am referring to your comments about Amrita Rao in ur post “Fab relatively”
Cuz Amrita has more lows than highs and Twinkle, vice versa.
but bad is bad….whether its once or multiple times…hv noticed this myself…. kareena, twinkle & a few socialites get away with a lot of fashion faux-pas….Favouratism rampant !! ;-)
The colour of the sari is the only good thing about this. How can we say that she’s worn it well, when it’s not even draped properly?
-lt’s too long at the bottom – hopefully she didn’t trip
-she didn’t pull it across her chest properly hence it’s drooping
-she tucked the pallu into her arm, so you can’t see the design
-her hair looks unkempt
-why would anyone wear such a manly watch with a sari? I don’t think watches go with Indian-wear.
Twinkle, it’s a major film for your husband and an overseas premiere, you could have made an effort!
I just saw more pictures of the premiere, and the blouse was so loose it was falling off her shoulders! As someone mentioned, this might possibly be her mother’s sari!
looks like her mom styled her…using one of her own sari’s…so out of style and fitting not to mention bad drapping
Geez…I have grown up outside of India and am overweight and I can drape a saree better than she did with all the help she has. I like that she hasn’t done the one boob out thing but come on look at those pleats!
They dont even look like pleats.. appears she just grabbed a fistful of fabric and tucked it in!
PnP -> Do put up more pics..
dignity personified.how can she have such beautiful hair!!!
She oozes of this amazing charm ! Love the manly watch with the saree.and she carries of that blouse so well
i think with how good she dresses usually – the casual drape thingy must be intentional!
she’s amazing looking..a chip of the old block.. mo matter the badly draped saree et al…
I like that its not OTT blingy and proper blouse with sleeves and proper chest coverage. She has nice hair but wears it only in one style.
I thinkTwinkle is even better looking than Ashiwarya.
And has definitely better dress sense.
Twinkle is so gorgeous, much much better than Ash, She definaly
knows what look good on. unlike Ash.
She is most beautiful women.
Ash learn some fashion sense from this women.
I like the colour of this sari very much, also I like the colour of the blouse.
Bad draping but still so classy! I like!
