In Twos

The Kapoor sisters attended a wedding on Sunday evening where Rhea was seen in an Anamika Khanna lehenga featuring custom artwork by Babbu and Sonam in a sharara from Good Earth‘s first ever couture line.

In the professionally shot pics, they sure looked lovely, especially thanks to the color-coordinated backdrop that enhanced each outfit. But, now that I’ve seen some of the casual pics on Instagram, am a bit on the fence about the sheer overlay and Sonam’s top.

Love ’em both or have a preference?

Neha took the Anamika show wearing a blue kurta with white pants by Anamika Khanna with Stella McCartney (?) sneakers. I may not be a fan of the footwear pick but she did look good ankles up.

Also wearing the same kurta with a matching skirt and silver jewellery was Sunita Kapoor.

When it comes to Anamika Khanna, Sunita’s love for her designs possibly trump Sonam’s. Case in point, these three back to back to back sightings of her where the jewellery designer was seen wearing kaftan tunics.

Wearing a sari from Narendra Kumar Ahmed’s first ever bridal collection, Sonam helped launch/inaugurate a store in the capital recently. With her hair in a braided updo, the actor finished out the look with a strong red lip and pair of Sunita Kapoor earrings.

She wears the sari well; Sonam looked rather elegant.

Wearing Rohit Bal, Sonam Kapoor helped inaugurate an exhibition in Mumbai yesterday. With flowers in her hair and a bindi in place, the actor finished out the look with jewelry from Sunita Kapoor and NeedleDust jootis.

There’s no one better than the statuesque Ms. Kapoor to pull off the volume heavy Rohit Bal floor-sweeping anarkalis. And yet, as perfect as the look was on paper, it felt lacking. While the updo may have been intended to balance out the volume, it made the look seem rather mature. Had she instead opted for a softer, wispier updo, sans the flowers and bindi, it would’ve been just the kind of soft, feminine look Sonam does so well. Not to mention, more youthful.
