Ritu Kumar showcased her Couture collection in Delhi with mother-daughter Sharmila (in a lehenga) and Soha (in a sharara gharara) closing out the show. From what we hear, it was Mommy dearest who stole the show with her poise and confidence. Wish we could see more of the outfits though. The two seem to be drowning under the dupattas.

On The Ramp: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly

The Good: A sari that would’ve looked tacky on anyone else came off looking so elegant on Sharmila who walked the ramp wearing diamond jewellery.

The Bad: Sagarika, also wore a black sari but with gold jewellery and somehow the look just didn’t gel together. The sari felt too modern and the jewellery way too traditional for it.

The Ugly: Neither of the two compared to Sonal Chauhan and words can’t express our horror at seeing her on the ramp. We hope she got paid tons of money to be dressed like that! Shudder!

Sharmila and Soha on Hello India

One can’t help but go a lil’ aww seeing Sharmila and Soha on this cover but while I love Sharmila in her sari, I felt the red lehenga on Soha was a wee bit bridal. Perhaps, it was a deliberate move on the stylist’s part since Sharmila’s mentioned how she would love to see Soha get married.

In either color, it’s a delightful sari and both ladies looked absolutely lovely… We’d be hard pressed to pick a favorite.

Am in my late 20s (TMI already :P) and to this very day, my mother will still pick on me if I wear a bad outfit. She gives me that ‘Young lady, you ain’t going anywhere looking like that!’ and boy am I glad she does that because I do eventually change (after a few moans and groans) and end up looking better. I really wish Sharmila would do that to daughter Soha! How gorgeous does Sharmila look and how awful does Soha? Told ya so, poles apart!
