Saawariyaaaaaaaargh!

The stars were out and about at the premiere of Saawariya, but these stars made it here for all the wrong reasons…

To begin with, Priyanka Chopra shows you how not to do Brocade. I mean really, trifle much, don’t you think? There is so much pattern going on there, makes me almost dizzy!

And then, the lovely Amisha Patel. Someone tell me how does one manage to match their lipstick down to the teeniest tint of their outfit?!

Oh boy! Lovely outfit but don’t think the silhouette’s doing much for Ms. Mukherjee.

Rani’s Fashion Boo Boo

We know Rani is a die-hard fan of Sabyasachi, but to wear the same style twice in a row does not sit well! The man has created so many different silhouettes that are so gorgeous that for her to stick to wearing the same thing again is such a bummer!

Hopefully Rani will choose some other styles for the next event. Look Rani, we even made this easy for you! Look here!

LIFW: Sabyasachi

There is a good reason why Sabyasachi is called the Hermes of India by those in the fashion-know and this collection is just another affirmation of what we already believe: he has the makings of a great couturier, and well under way!

The colors were so rich, grounded, yet so luxe and vibrant! The color palette exploded with every hue and tone but never overwhelmed. The textures were stunning, there was velvet, brocade, chiffon, chenille, khadi and even cotton! Lovely!

I loved that he mentioned at the Press Conn, the fact that its time designers worked on consolidating and paying attention to the market in India because it is the Indian consumers that made designers like him and Tarun Tahiliani into super brands!

This collection was inspired by the India-Pakistan partition and by movies like Sardari Begum, 1947 Earth and, the colors by Mircha Masala. He had quwalis for soundtrack, calling it ethnic trance. You got to love that! The collection went back to the roots of Indian ethnic couture.

I can’t think of a single minus on this collection. This is the kind of piece a woman owns and passes on as an heirloom! It was masterfully crafted and skillfully executed and takes a man of certain skill and genius to do what he does every single time with Indian couture!

P.S: Rani was spotted at the show wearing an ensemble designed by Sabyasachi!

Saawariya Music Launch

Sonam Kapoor finally made her debut in front of the press at the music launch of Saawariya. I, obviously, was very curious to see what she would be wearing to her first public appearance and she didn’t disappoint.

I love the outfit Sonam is wearing. The girl looks gorgeous. Who would believe she used to weigh 90 kgs!

Rani looks fabulous in an aubergine Anuradha Vakil sari. Her necklace is a perfect accompaniment to the sari, matching the detailed stitching. Another good choice was keeping the hand jewelry simple, with just a pair of gold bangles.

Ranbir’s velvet jacket with the blue shirt just doesn’t seem to be gelling.

Cannot wait to see more of Anuradha Vakil’s designs in the movie!

Laaga chunari mein daag??

Image src: IndiaFm

So the first promo of “Laaga Chunari Mein Daag” is out and as usual Rani looks gorgeous. She looks the best in indian outfits rather than western clothes. Don’t you think? The small skirts with the “curls and bangs” hair style in “Tara Rum Pum” was hideous! And I hate it when actors and actresses wear horrible wigs. What happened to the hair stylist!

Anyhoo, coming back to the original topic, so I am watching the trailer.. and there is this one scene where Abhishek goes to Rani “Itni to dosti hai ke bata sakoon?”.. And me the evil biiaaatch cannot help but imagine what the previous dialog might have been?

Could it be “Why Ash?”

HAHAHAHA

Do you have any witty answers??

Watch the official YRF promo to see the scene I am talking about HERE and write your own versions! (You can also click on the movie picture above to watch the promo)
Let’s see if there is someone more evil than me out there!
