At a recent awards event, Divya was photographed in a Niki Mahajan suit. Wearing her hair down, she finished out the look with jewelry from Johri By Amaze and pair of Christian Louboutin pumps. Can’t say we were fans of the suit. Divya to her credit though fared better than most others would have in it.

Wearing a sheer, pale pink Niki Mahajan sari, Dipannita attended a jewelry preview in Mumbai yesterday. Having paired the sari with a long sleeved sheer black blouse, Ms. Sharma finished out her look with a ponytail, clutch, long earrings and purple lip color.

With ease that is natural to her, she wears the sari rather gracefully. That said, the sari itself was anything but graceful! That was whole lot of sheer to take in. And while we are all for a dramatic lip, the color only seemed jarring here. Having seen her do better, way better, let’s just chalk this one up to a ‘Not Quite’.

Niki Mahajan’s collection used the western silhouette with a strong Indian influence in design and print that was hard to miss. While there was a lot of color, it was never overwhelming, most of its use stayed toned down and muted.

There were pleated dresses with jeweled accents, bubble hem dresses and quilted jackets. There was an emphasis at the sleeves which were very constructed and necklines were varied through the collection.
