Maxi’mum Summer

It’s Summer and you know what that means, don’t you? We are going to be seeing more and more of these maxis…

These three ladies too opted for their maxi dresses when attending movie screenings and as comfortable as they might have been, none of these ladies did justice to the dress de rigueur of Summer. No fault of theirs, it was the dresses themselves that let ’em down. It’s a ‘Not Quite’ for us.

Of the three, Maria did fare the best but what’s with the feathers?? Bhagyashree should’ve just skipped the belt and Raima should’ve just skipped the dress altogether and picked something else to wear.

The Resort 2009 Collection Recap

Here’s a quick look at some trends that popped while looking at various designers’ Resort 2009 collections…

Masculine suits with a feminine twist were a predominant look… And if thats a bit much, you don’t have to do the whole suit, borrow your man’s shirt, throw on a funky belt and voila you have your own look you can own and flaunt!!

Jewel tones are going to be big… amethyst, sapphire, emerald, amber, coral… and who doesn’t love a bit of color?

The maxi dresses aren’t going anywhere either, except they are back with a higher ‘hippie-bohemian-gypsy’ chic quotient!

And who doesn’t love a great kaftan? Reminds me of old Hollywood glam, of black and white movies, a stiff martini, a dashing leading man, wiity conversation laced with a million words a minute and in the middle of it all, a beautiful woman in her kaftan… Sigh.

Spotted Rosa and Perizaad Zorabian at two different recent events wearing Maxi dresses, a huge trend… I wish Perizaad went with a different color/print, didn’t think it flattered her too much, but can’t say have any complaints with Rosa’s outfit!

This is a Spring/Summer trend that am absolutely loving, its so flattering for all body types and can so easily be dressed up or down… And with the amount of vibrant colors and prints out there to choose from, just makes it perfect!
