Bag Spotting

I may not have liked her flip flop look but I absolutely loved the Manish Arora bag that Ms. Zinta was carrying at the Olive launch. The bag has the mudra print also seen on one of the shirts showcased in Manish Arora’s Spring 2008 collection.

Great Minds Think Alike?

We already saw a similar case happening at the Wills Fashion Week this year. A little bit of research and we found yet another case where two outfits look just so similar that it makes you wonder, whether these great minds think alike or did one copy the other?

Manish Arora

Mandira Wirk

And, if you thought this was only an Indian problem, have a looksee at these two pumps below!

Manolo Blahnik Erdem

Christian Louboutin Fontanete

P.S. Thanks Ritu for the shoes lead! ;)

WLIFW: Manish Arora

Manish Arora’s collection was all about the world of fantasy warriors!

There were metal armours, pop culture images like Mickey Mouse from Disney and from Japanese avant-garde artist Keiichi Tanaami, Japanese Samurai influences and anything medieval infused with pop-culture kitsch.

Crystals, stones, metallics, shimmer, constructed shoulders, layered textures, intricate embroideries, origami’esque construction and bead-work all made up the collection.

Cricket Couture!

Yes, it has finally happened! Fashion has found its way into India’s favorite sport.

Manish Arora and Shantanu-Nikhil were asked to design the outfits for the the eight leagues of the Indian Cricket League(ICL). While Manish designed for six teams — Chennai Superstars, Kolkata Tigers, Delhi Giants, Mumbai Champs, Hyderabad Heroes and Chandigarh Lions, Shantanu and Nikhil designed for two, Ahmedabad Rockets and Lahore Badhshahs.

Manish previewed his designs a few months ago, but Shantanu and Nikhil just recently revealed their designs.

While we love Manish to the core, I think the Chennai Superstars probably had a tad bit of a hard time slipping into theirs. They got the pink one, you see! ;)

For more pics of Manish’s designs, go here.
