Our expectations from the grand finale have always been sky-high. Unfortunately, we are yet to feel that they’ve been met.
We knew going into the show (virtually, in this case) that there would be tons of paneled backless floor length anarkalis and tiered lehengas with heavy gota work and guess what, we weren’t wrong!
Last season, we were pleasantly surprised that Mr. Malhotra had dialed down the OTT. Well, at the grand finale he dialed it back up again. It’s great to see Manish everywhere, showcasing in fashion weeks after fashion weeks but part of us thinks that perhaps, just perhaps, one should take a step back and possibly rework/rethink ideas..
Every designer has a signature pattern and we wouldn’t want him to change it up radically. Just enough such that we don’t feel like that at every fashion week we’re just seeing the same thing again and again just in a different color palette.
This, however, is just how we feel. Many of you may beg to differ and we welcome your reactions.
