In Halpern

For an event in Cannes, Kangana picked a Halpern dress to wear. With her hair in a high ponytail, she rounded out the look with a pair of classic black pumps.

It was a party so sparkles worked, sure. The dress itself though, not so much. Kangana to her credit fared better than most others would have in it but, we are ready to move on to the next.

In Nedret Taciroglu

If we asked you to spell drama would you say Kangana? Don’t blame you. After tackling the Sixties with her Breakfast at Tiffany’s inspired look (movie, not the book), Kangana took on the Seventies in her Nedret Taciroglu fully embellished jumpsuit. Big hair and de Grisogono jewels rounded out the actor’s look perfectly.

Don’t care for how the beading/embellishment falls over the crotch, there’s no way to un-see it. Bit of a downer that. That aside, there’s no two ways about it… Ms. Ranaut owned it head to toe.

So y’all think Kangana is going to take on the Eighties next?

Of Film Festivals

After her red carpet appearance on Thursday, Kangana changed into a red Nanushka leather dress paired with Neous pvc pumps that we saw on her first while she travelling to Cannes. Friday saw her in a leather bralet, olive pants and beige jacket, all from Trussardi. Before she headed out to the her second red carpet appearance, she seemed to have indulged in some shopping and did so wearing an Elisabetta Franchetti dress.

I loved her in the red. But, then I love myself a good black, white and red combo. The Trussardi look for a stroll on the streets was quite a risque move and frankly, I don’t know if it worked. Why wear the bralet and then wear that boring jacket?

The blue frock was so fun and I loved the Tod’s mini bag with it. But, yet again, her bodyguard carrying her Birkin just showed us how impractical the micro bag was for her here.

In Sabyasachi

In her Sabyasachi sari, Kangana served up some serious vintage-inspired glamour at Cannes. At first glance, we loved it- There’s something about a timeless sari and a classic bouffant.

But here’s the thing, as much as we love this, for the event in question it just feels too on the nose and dare we add, costume-y. A softer updo and a killer cat-eye would’ve been just as effective.

So, yeah… Love it. Just conflicted given the event in question.
