Day 4: Aparna And Norden Wangdi

Aparna And Norden Wangdi’s collection was inspired by the ‘Rag Doll’ and was chockablock with a riot of colors! Yellows, pinks, reds, greens all made up for one seriously cheery collection!

The printed skirts, long layered skirts and vibrant tops were just so fresh and sunny! I absolutely adored the short, pink cropped jacket!

So upbeat!

Day 3: Nokia-Rocky S

So, Rocky S did a collection which was inspired by the Nokia prism design mobile phones.. And it was booooooring! The collecion was quite repetitive, lacking in personality and idea..

Oh, and Lara Dutta walked the runway for the collection. Big whoppity-doo!

Bleh.

Day 3: Mynah – Renu Tandon

‘Rise and Shine’ was what Renu Tandon’s collection was called which was dominated by the colors of oranges, burnt orange/reds and beiges!

Saris and lehengas were defined by their intricate work and vibrant hues! The longer evening gowns were quite predictably garish, however, the short dresses really worked owing to their simplicity and to the work done on them which was edited down to just what was needed instead of being doled out in copious amounts! Another thing that stood out were the salwar-kameezes, the simpler ones seemed very easy to wear for day, and evening ones kept the embellishments to the minimum while still retaining the glam look!

Was interesting.

Day 3: Surily Goel

Surily Goel’s collection was dominated by deep reds, whites, creams and pale, pale blues, all accented by mother-of-pearl embellishments!

Some of the prints that she used were really interesting like the one on the deep red dress which was a floral print without being garish! And I thought using mother-of-pearl accents on those cream pleated dresses and pale blue dresses, especially when using them as an accent on the neckline or on the hemline was just a great idea!

The collection could have easily gotten repetitive but it didn’t! I quite liked it. The clothes were all very wearable and had the easy balance of the ‘bohemian’ and the very, updated, clean look of now!

Day 3: Grassroot by Anita Dongre

Anita Dongre’s Grassroots is apparantly a complete line of ecofriendly clothes. The collection had an extremely easy, casual-chic vibe, perfect for daywear! The tunics and dresses had dominant flower motifs, which while staying central to the theme, did not thankfully overpower the clothes…

I loved the teeming of the tunics with the capris and those simple day dresses in white with floral prints were just so youthful! And those jackets? Absolutely worked.
