It wasn’t a surprise to see Miss Universe Sushmita Sen as judge at the recently held Miss India contest. She wore a deep pink Shantanu-Nikhil gown which she wore with a ruby and diamond necklace. ( I know some of you have been asking me about but I still don’t know who it is by. If I do find out, I will let you all know. )
The basic design of the gown was also seen earlier on Neha in a different color when she walked for the designer duo last year at the Gitanjali Luxury Style Fest.

Color wise pink but don’t like the overwhelming bling on it!

Sushmita looks gorgeous. Although, I wish she wore a plain gown with that necklace, it would have looked much better. that waist detail doesn’t really go well with the necklace.

But overall I like Sushmita’s look better than Neha’s.
when i saw the contest, i loved sushmita in it! probably because i didnt see the embellished necklines.
but had the gown been plain, and she had worn the same necklace with it, i’d still be going ga-ga!
that said, it sure is wow seeing her in colour. :)
We still need to go a long way in the gown department. What works for ethnic gear may not often work for gowns. Usually it is the cut that makes the cut for the gown. Simplicity is not that simple. The ruchings, the netted material,the volume, the overly blinged belt, add to the horrors of the gown. Top this with mismatched shoes and over the top amount of jewelry…no redemption…
Neha looks great and so does sush except that Sush’s necklace is quite busy and so is the waist design on the gown..so its clashing and killing the look
I love the top half of Sushmita’s, and the skirt of Neha’s. I think Sush would have done better with a different necklace, though…the more structured look of the necklace doesn’t gel too well with the kind of abstract look of the waist detail.

I like the dress on Neha more than Sushmita, but its nice to see her wear some color.

I do love the color, but the belt/waist-band kills it. Oh boy the necklace is lovely…but am not sure if it goes with the gown.

I dont like the eyebrows threaded in such an angular way… They look like two triangles on her face…

I agree with herdisnot. Are these gowns supposed to be couture? If yes, then they fail miserably- they look more like a low- end designer’s work- you know, Elie Saab wannabe.
Sushmita’s necklace would have been great with Deepika’s dress! Sush could do without the necklace…some nice solitaires in her ears and a great diamond bangle. There is too much going on with the dress belt to warrant such a huge necklace.
These are bad rip offs of Gavin Miguel and Gauri & nainika…why wont ths duo stick to their silhouettes? Sushmita looks like cinderellas step sister and as for neha….she is better off looking filmy in her bollywood avtaar
I think too much bling kills Sush’s dress. A simple silver stone rim would have looked so much better. Something about her look is off.. and as much as I am a fan of hers, I agree with several comments above – she does look kinda scary!
Such a pretty necklace
I love that sushmita chose to wear subtle makeup with that bright pink gown! She shouldn’t have worn that big necklace, though, the bling on the dress is enough. I love her whole look, she always looks soo classy :)
Neha’s dress is also nice, I like that she chose to wear her hair down and went with more dramatic makeup
its all too much together for someone who’s always in vixen-y black! i do applaud her for trying, she has a such a gorgeous face and full body…the jewellery is nice, belt a HUGE no no. or she could’ve minused the jewelery, worn the blingy gown and let her hair down :)) i wish i had skin like hers!
