In Swati and Sunaina

For promotions of Mom in Kolkata, Sridevi visited the sets of a TV show wearing a Swati and Sunaina sari in an Atpoure (also known as the Bengali) drape. Bold red lips, a bold big bindi and jadau jewellery from Gracee finished out her look.

It was quite a surprise to see her in this avatar and we quite liked. I do have a feeling though that some of you may find all that jewellery a bit OTT.

  1. Way too costumey. Her earlier Maharashtrian avatar was also costumey but the saree paired with the kundan jewelry is Filmfare awards dance recital circa 2000.

  2. The jewelry might be OTT, but it’s the saree drape that’s killing me! So shabby! Whoever draped it on her has no clue whatsoever how to wear a saree atpourey style. So far I’ve only seen Pratima Gaurav wear it the right way.

  3. She looks beautiful. That red/white sari with the accessories looks good on her. Yeah, she looks decked up but still carrying off that drape/style with grace/ease.

  4. Almost all of her traditional looks end up in the OTT territory. She looks her best when she keeps it simple.

The sari drape is so awful btw.

    • So true! She or her stylists don’t know when to stop when going for traditional looks. Really unfortunate because I think this look would have been stunning with lesser jewellery.

I have no idea how can P&P judge looks from such pics with a bad lighting. They leave it upon us too to ascertain whether we like the look or not considering how lighting can totally change the quantum of makeup that is visible, shine of jewellery & even the drape & fall of clothes!
